Another year gone. What a blur it was!!1! __ I. January First month of the year. My lineart was probably too thick, and the soft brush I insisted on using for it in Clip Studio Paint made the results look sloppy when you noticed how the color didn't quite fill up the subject. I did continue to implement soft shading, however. II. February Pretty much the same as January, but this was the month when I streamed some of my art process on CSP for the first time with an online friend group. I typically dislike having people watch me draw (not sure if most artists are the same or not), but I gave it a shot anyway. (Btw I wasn't streaming the artwork featured for February, I streamed a different drawing) III. March I was still at it with the sloppy lines, although I did start looking for ways to make my art seem more eye-catching in some way. I streamed for about 2 hours on the featured artwork without realizing people were watching, and I didn't notice till by the time I was practically finished. IIII. April By this month I FINALLY changed the kind of lineart brush I used and did a bit of real inking. I streamed once again this month while doing some griffin headshots and drew two friends' characters as well. However, I stopped streaming after that. V. May Yay. I started drawing more human/oids again. My lineart regressed... but yeah. VI. June I continued to work on soft shading and special effects, but at that point I was already dissatisfied with my style as a whole and fought with that for the rest of the year. VII. July. ArtFight month. I had been sticking with Clip Studio Paint for half a year now but this month I mostly returned to my humble Procreate origins--I think that did me some good since it felt a bit more natural for me. (Plus, Procreate brushes are pretty nice) VIII. August I didn't work on many rendered pieces this month and kinda focused on working on a new griffin base while undergoing a designing phase and developing a couple new characters. XI. September Was already back in school and didn't draw a lot this month--not my proudest time of year, but I managed to doodle a couple stuff. X. October I honestly drew more stuff for art class than anything else and only doodled a few personal things. Jupiter is big. Hope it doesn't find us. XI. November Art style crisis was already hitting HARD but November really stuck it into the mud; I knew my shading & highlights were shoddy at best and I poured a whole bunch of experimentation into a single piece that took an entire month to do and left me feeling... unpleasant, to say the least. XII. December I tried chilling out a bit and made some progress on WIPs during the last month of the year; I was starting to work towards an okayish style for myself, and I'm still developing it as I go. __ Well, that's all I have for this year's art summary. Let's anticipate 2024 when it strikes at midnight and then go right back to whatever you were doing before!!!
