I'm so happy to be finished with this map, and I just wanted to recap the rollercoaster that was this project. As I said before, this took nine months total, and what follows is a very simplified list of all the major things that happened during that time (that are sort of related). - May 2023, I found out basically what a MAP was and saw that one of my friends was hosting one. I joined it, and I decided that I would want to host my own at 30 followers. - July 2023, I hit 30 followers, and I had a song stuck in my head called Maroon, by Taylor Swift. It had been played for me at a sleepover, and although I couldn't remember the name, I remembered that it was about the color Red, so I googled Red, by Taylor Swift. I guess I heard it and I was like, "that's not the right song, weird. It still sounds great tho, so I'll use it anyway." So I stayed up all night figuring out how to import a song into scratch from youtube and dividing it into parts. The next day, I sent out invites to a bunch of people and got super excited. I got even more active on scratch because I kept checking my notifications and meeting new people via chatting in comment sections. - Sometime in the summer, I hit 60 followers, which was crazy to me, as I had actually doubled the amount of followers I had in only a couple months. - August 2023, I started middle school, which caused me to be a lot more busy, and so I became less active on scratch. I still checked my notifications every day, and responded as fast as I could. - My map project got banned. I'm not sure exactly when this happened, but I remember cheerfully checking my notifications only to see that scratch had banned my project with seemingly no reason. I still can only guess why it happened, but luckily, it let me make a remix. This meant that although I had to go back through and re-add it to all the studios it had been in, lost all of its likes and favs, comments and remixes, I was still able to continue. - I hit 100 followers!! This meant a ton to me, and I started working on a celebration project. - My account got deleted. I'm also not exactly sure when this happened, but I know I tried to log in to my account and it just said that I couldn't access it because the class had been deleted. I then realized that I had been using an account that had been created when I was in 3rd grade, and that my 3rd grade teacher had finally deleted the class. She told me that she couldn't keep the class open forever, so she had to close it at some point. After a discussion, she agreed to give me a little more time. I then became much more active on scratch, specifically sending many reminders to people that still needed to finish their parts, and sent a message to all my followers that I'd be moving accounts. My celebration project was completely forgotten, and I slowly switched to my new account and began putting the map together in this account, even though I hoped to be finished by the time my account got shut down. - In January, my account got shut down, for real this time, and I was very glad that I had started putting together the map in my new account. I sort of lost motivation once my account got deleted, and pretty much only checked my notifications. - This week I finally had the time to work on it, since it's spring break, and WE FINISHED! I'm so happy and honestly relieved, as this has been sort of a weight on my shoulders for a long time (it was def fun, but still). TYSM to everyone!!
