Well, it seems Texas has finally gone too far. Actually, just kidding, America's already gone down the drain! This problem is about university and college campuses specifically. On Texan college campuses, it is now banned to have a diversity, equity and inclusion office, or a DEI office. According to the Texas Tribune, this is because 'Texas Republicans have blamed DEI offices and programs for indoctrinating students with left-wing ideology and forcing schools to prioritise hiring based on how much job candidates supported diversity over merit.' Let me say that louder for our friends in the back: Right wing Texans' identities are so fragile that they want colleges and universities to ban DEI offices so they don't (god forbid!) have to hire a minority. Because DEI offices are so scary! They hire scary people like LGBTQ+ people and non-white people! They tell high school kids about college! They work to make the school a better place! And you know what I think is funny? This happened because they wanted to hire workers with 'more merit.' But those workers ain't coming! Now Texans are complaining that they can't get people to come work for them. I wonder why. Honestly, this whole thing is just making me give up on humanity like... people will ban anything because of one little thing that they think is too 'woke.' Personal story: Last year, the Catholic school board in my region had this whole thing about pride flags. People fought long and hard for the right to put them up, and you know what happened? Protests. Protesting against a rainbow flag. Parents had to keep their kids out of school. Kids were scared to go to school because people can't just let people be! I want to tell you not to worry, but life is rough. But keep pushing through, and maybe one day we'll be able to actually make the world a better place.
A lot of people like to debate me on these projects, and I'm sure that'll happen here at some point. Feel free! I love debating. I'm on the debate team at school. Just please, do some research before you argue here or on my other political projects. Also I appreciate it if you use decent grammar. It helps.
