Margaret Keane is a single mother who sells paintings for a living, but her paintings are something special, different. They are all about people with big eyes, (hence the name of the movie) and this causes the people to be attracted by her paintings because of the look of sorrow in them. Sadly, she does not make a good living out of it and because of this, her ex-husband asks for custody of their daughter but one day it all changes! She meets Walter Keane who is a "painter" and a commercial real estate agent, they develop a relationship and soon get married, Walter, who was fascinated by her paintings, suggested that she should paint and he would sell the paintings. At first, when he would try to sell the paintings, he would credit his wife.
