click and drag to zoom. turn brightness up and use fullscreen for best view. drew my silly guy, playing with some more perspective. also the hollow knight obsession has returned with a vengeance time taken: 3h 43m i'm going to infodump backstory here bc i SWEAR desolation is nice, their appearance in this piece is purely circumstantial. so basically in the beginning, before the universe was created, there existed a generation of "first gods," the eldest of which being desolation. excluding desolation, these humanoid gods possessed the power of creation and could build a home for themselves from the empty expanse. but desolation's breath, specks of their essence expelled as desolation breathed, made these gods mortal. they could not get sick or be wounded by most substances, but died of old age. desolation was ostracized from this godly society and lived in the empty void outside of the gods' cities. one day, having grown sick of people dying, the gods took it upon themselves to attack and kill desolation. this plan failed, mostly because the only weapon that can pierce gods is desolation's own scythe. so, yeah, that's what's happening here. the first gods tried to mess with the natural order and the reasonably annoyed vessel of death killed them. he then proceeded to take a trillion-year nap, as you do.
