Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year! (Sorry I'm late, last week I was working hard on BS2 so I started making this ON Christmas) It feels like this year has gone by even quicker than the last, though I guess that's to be expected! Anyways, this is a remake of "Chroma Christmas", which was the BG music found in last year's Christmas project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/780906871/ (Gosh, I've improved in both art and music so much this year) I actually ported this to my current music software in like June or something, and then left it completely to work on BS2. I looked for and rediscovered it on Christmas, and I started working on it to NOT make it the stock soundfont! So I redid the drums and a few synths. About last project, sorry I got so... y'know, wrote a HUGE paragraph complaining about my own circumstances. But I was really relieved that lots of people said that they'd rather the game to come out later and be more polished. Now in retrospect, I feel really stupid comparing my games to professionally developed ones, but that is the quality I strive for. I've taken a break from making the game (and will until the new year) except for stuff like fixing game-breaking bugs before showing the game to some people. As you can probably tell from the overall tone of this text, I'm feeling a lot more relaxed and refreshed now. Again, a massive thanks to everyone for responding so positively to that, and I'll try not to damage myself like that ever again. I shared less projects than last year, and that really shows because the average quality is way higher in each one. I can list off great things I've done this year, and guess what? I won't have any other place to so I will here. (Not literally every shared project) The Liminal Cosmology, though still a demo, was quite well made (though jank) in my opinion. I got different physics engines and player sprites and the ability to swap between them in there! Billding Site 1.5 is a good animation that has absolutely no connection to BS2! Obviously, the art style in the actual game is more consistent now, so it looks outdated for that, but it's still the longest and best animation I've made! The Great Rebrand of BS2 was... waIT, *ThE WONGMY AMININE?!?!/1/1/1/?!!?!/1* an update about BS2's art style, but that itself had an /aminated/ appearance of me with full voice *acting* and /lip syncing/. So it was pretty good. Unfortunately, that line, THE LINE, "I'm just a guy making stuff in his free time!" or whatever, has come true, but in the way that I can't compete with other professionally developed games, even if they're over 30 years old. (Also if you suspected it, YES, that project was a parody of VA'ing and cutscenes in Sonic Adventure) After this I kinda showed stuff from BS2 off up until now, and YEAH. It has changed a bit in terms of aesthetics and a few core mechanics since then, but... now that I've taken a break and am more inspired, I can make the game more inspired and something that CAN compete compared to other games! It might take a bit of work, and I might not actually do it, but I might just make this the Scratch game of all time! I'm still kinda disappointed that I didn't get my magnum opus game, or ANY big game release out for 2023, though the more I reflect on it, the more I see I've still done really great stuff. OH YEAH, and before I go, yes, elements of the art for this year's CC was inspired by the BS2 thumbnail by , but in a style more akin to the game sprites. I did learn a lot of art stuff from him this year, and I'm always looking to improve myself! So anyways, enjoy the music, and here's to a great 2024 for everyone! -WONGMY
