Chapter 6: Ravenclaw Bonds Christopher was tired. After the headmistress, Professor McGonagall gave a speech, they had to sing a kind of special song from Hogwarts. Then, Professor McGonagall said that she was going to present the Heads of Houses. Professor Longbottom was the head of Gryffindor house. Apparently, he was also the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts, AND the Herbology teacher. The Slytherin head of house was a mysterious looking woman, with long black hair, and black with blue mysterious looking robes. She was also the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. The Ravenclaw one was called Professor Enchantara. She was a nice looking, elderly, woman. She was very young-looking for her age. Christopher wanted to know her better, but it looked as if he had to wait for his first Charms class with her. The Hufflepuff head of house was the transfiguration teacher, Professor Evergreen. After the long feast, with amazing food, Christopher got up with Oliver. “Do you know what we’re supposed to do now?” Oliver asked him. “All I want to do is sleep.” Replied Christopher. They heard a sweet female voice, “Ravenclaws, Ravenclaws! Follow me please!” Christopher and Oliver saw Andrea, going to the girl, and they went running to follow her. “I swear they are getting smaller.” He heard. He turned around and saw a boy pointing at him. Close to him he saw Anna. “Anna!” Christopher said, waving at his sister. Anna went running toward him. “Hi, Chris!” She said, “Congratulations on getting to Ravenclaw!” Christopher smiled at her, “Thanks.” He said. “Ravenclaws, Ravenclaw’s!” He heard the same sweet voice. “Sorry, I got to go!” Christopher said to Anna. He went running to Oliver and Andrea again. Christopher, and all the first years in Ravenclaw, were in a line, following the girl. They went west, and then climbed a small spiral staircase. They headed all the way up to find a large ornate door. Suddenly, she stopped, and said the following, “I'm Prefect Amaya Kasahara, and I'm delighted to welcome you to RAVENCLAW HOUSE. Our emblem is the eagle, which soars where others cannot climb; our house colors are blue and bronze, and our common room is found at the top of Ravenclaw Tower, behind a door with an enchanted knocker.” Oliver and Christopher looked at each other. “To enter our amazing common room,” Amaya continued, “You need to stand in front of the bronze eagle, like this.” She got face to face with the eagle. “I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?” All the first years looked at each other, surprised. “The eagle is supposed to give you a riddle.” The Prefect explained. “Cool!” Oliver whispered to Christopher. Christopher wasn’t so sure. He never solved a riddle in his life. “That riddle is a classic one.” Amaya said. “An echo.” She told the eagle, simply but firmly. “Correct.” The eagle said.It opened its wings and revealed a door. Amaya opened it. It was a magnificent sight. “Boys, your dorm is on the right, girls, the same as you are, only that you need to climb the stairs on the left.” Amaya said sweetly. “We're going to be in the same dorm together!” Christopher said excitedly to Oliver. “I know! Let's get a side with only two beds!” Oliver said. Both him and Christopher went running to the right.
When Christopher and Oliver entered where they had to sleep, there were three boys already. They were chatting together. One of them was telling a story on how he found out he was a wizard. “Hi!” Oliver said nicely to them. “I am Oliver Ravenshadow.” Oliver looked at Christopher. “And this is my friend, Christopher. He’s a Metamorphmagus.” He said this pointing to Christopher. “What’s that?” Said the boy that was telling the story. “ Sorry, it's that I’m a muggle-born. I’m Jackson Shadowcaster, by the way.” The boy stood up. “Oh.” Christopher said, surprised. “A Metamorphmagus is a rare ability wizards and witches may have. They can change their appearance at will.” A boy with blond hair had his eyes open. “Whoa.” He said. “I’ve always wanted to meet one.” He stood up, and got closer to Christopher. “Could you turn into me?” He asked him. “Sure!” Christopher said. He scrunched his eyes tightly. He first started changing his hair. It shortened, and then turned blond. Then the rest of it. After a while, he opened his eyes. “You're exactly like me!” The boy said surprised. “But you forgot something. I'm a whole taller than what you are.” Oliver piped in, “He has problems changing the size with his Metamorphmagus skills. He’ll train more so he can get that part right.” “Fine.” The boy said. “I'm Caspian Nightshade, by the way. Grandchild of Professor Seraphina Nightshade, the Head of Slytherin, and teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts.” Christopher then turned his attention to the third boy, who still didn't talk. “Oh, Liraelle Moonstone.” Said the boy, shyly, when he noticed. “I'm sure we will be great friends!” Jackson said cheerfully, opening a box of Bertie Botts’. “I hope so.” Christopher said silently, but no one heard him. Sorry for the short chapter!
