1. A little bit about me I go by Dotty and Marty, use she/her pronouns, and am queer and bisexual. I’m also a percussionist, distance runner, and a furry! I like music, space, rabbits, the show Community, and cheese (as is well known). I’ve been part the gaehive since late March/early April 2021. 2. My age, general time online as well as timezone I’m 15 years old and live in the Central Standard Time zone. I’m usually online somewhat sporadically throughout the day. I’m usually more active during the evening during weekdays and more active during the day on weekends, but am able to be online pretty much whatever time during the day if need be. 3. Why I’d be a good manager I have been a part of the Gaehive for a long time. This means that I am familiar with the rules and am aware of past issues the studio has faced and how to avoid them. I have experience with trolls, sockpuppets, drama, etc. Having experience is useful to this position because I know roughly what to expect. Having been around for this long, I’m also familiar with most of the managers and should be able to cooperate effectively with them. I also have experience with managing studios and hosting studio-wide events. I’ve hosted/been involved with several gaehive studios, including the Pablo studio and a thanksgiving studio several years ago. 4. Downsides to me being a manager As of right now, I am not very active. This would mean that I would be unreliable when curators ask for assistance or if I am needed in the studio. Along with being relatively inactive, I tend not to check the branch-off studios very often. All of this can be remedied if necessary. Though I have some experience with managing smaller studios, I’m not very experienced with managing larger studios. Additionally, I know the rules of the gaehive and am good at enforcing them, but I am not the best at conflict resolution. 5. Unique things I could bring to the position One thing I could bring to the gaehive would be to encourage more community based activities. It’s always fun to make a gaehive dance or holiday celebration, or even just a random studio or event for no reason. Making stuff like the Pablo studio for members to participate in would be really fun. 6. My stance on one or more of current issues The lack of response to advice and euphoria comments is unfortunate since this is something that is a perfect use of the Gaehive as a community. Advice about identity, helping with choosing names or pronouns, and gender affirmation are queer and community specific services that I feel the gaehive would benefit from if more attention was payed to them. I think that encouragement of these comments could be put in the studio rules or description as a possible way to remedy this issue. 7. What I would improve about the gaehive I would work towards encouraging more replies to comments as well as more engagement with euphoria/name and pronoun testing. I would also enforce rules against inappropriate comments more as well. 8. 3+ members I recommend. Meta has been a part of the gaehive for a long time. She’s a very positive person and always spreading positivity and supportive messages on the studio. is active and brings a great vibe to the studio. In the past I’ve seen it mention wanting to change the comment habits of users (lack of replies and the “popularity contest” the studio can be at times). I also think that Defenestrator would generally be a good fit with the other managers. - Mikë has matured a lot, which I think says a lot about their character. Xe also is always making suggestions as to how to improve the studio and has gotten good at offering constructive criticism. He’s also been part of the studio for quite a long time.
