Instructions

Guff was sitting by the lake, skipping stones over the cool water. His brothers Unstuffed Guff, Sled-Ready Guff, and Guff Gringle were playing in the shallow end. Guff was the oldest of his brothers. He had enlisted in the military to help serve the island of Papaya. Right now things were quiet so he got a break from work. Guff figured something big was coming from the enemy's side, so he had to be prepared. He carried his weapons with him everywhere in case he got called into battle. Guff Gringle, the second oldest brother came over. "Hey Guff...what's wrong? Loosen up!" Guff sighed and leaned his head onto his fists and stared at his reflection in the water. "I feel something is coming Gringle. Something big..." Guff Gringle looked up at the sky. "Well it's not here yet, so let's go play!" Guff followed Guff Gringle's gaze. "I guess you're right..." Guff stood up and followed Guff Gringle over to where his younger brothers stood splashing about in the water. After several rounds of Guff In The Middle, clouds began to form and thunder rumbled in the distance. "Get down!" Guff tackled his brothers to the ground and they lay still in a ditch. As quickly as it had come, the thunder stopped. Several minutes later, Guff peeked through his fingers, which were covering his eyes. "Hello...Guff." It was Kado Thorne, Guff's largest enemy. Guff gulped. "What are you doing here?" Kado cackled evilly. "Well it's quite simple. I've come here to destroy you and your little family of copy-cats." Guff lept to his feet. "I'm not scared of you!" "Oh you don't have to be. Because I'll change your mind real quick." Kado threw a punch at Guff, but Guff dodges and does a quick tuck and roll. Guff Gringle raises his hand in the air. "CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE." Guff's brother's come out of the ditch and charge at Kado Thorne. Kado grabs Unstuffed Guff by the wrist, twists it all the way back, and kicks at the back of poor Unstuffed Guff's legs until he falls back into the ditch. Kado then grabs Guff Gringle and throws him into the ditch on top of Unstuffed Guff. Both get knocked out. Sled-Ready Guff sneaks away as Kado Thorne backs Guff into a corner. Guff closes his eyes and puts his hands up, bracing himself for impact when suddenly Kado stops. Guff peeks one eye open and lowers his hands. Kado is turned around, fighting off Guff's friends. Ruby winks at Guff as she grabs her shotty off her back. Kado quickly dives into the lake, and swims off into the distance. Ruby, Opal, and the others cheer. "How did you guys know I was in danger?" Guff asked, still in shock. Ruby and Opal gently push Sled-Ready Guff forward. He looks at his feet. "I snuck away and called for help." He whispered. "It's a good thing you did! I was about to become Guff History!" "Speaking of Guffs, where's our brothers?" Sled-Ready Guff asked. "Oh yeah they're in the ditch." Guff points. Everyone hurries over to make sure the brothers were alright. "We're fine!" Unstuffed Guff assures everyone. "I hope that guy never comes back." Guff Gringle winces as he rubs his head. "He won't." Guff helps his brothers up, and turns to the horizon where Kado Thorne disappeared into. "I'll make sure of it."
