Blueberry ~ 1/1/19-1/1/24 -WHAT HAPPENED- Blueberry has passed away. Yesterday afternoon (12/29/24), Blueberry and Pineapple were playing around. Blueberry was very active. Then, when I came home from debate class, Blueberry was laying on the floor of the cage, breathing heavily. I could easily pick her up. I knew this wasn't really normal, as Blueberry was the more sensitive one compared to Pineapple. She seemed in pain, and we quickly rushed her to the vet. Where I live, it's really cold in the winter. The vet said that Blueberry was too cold. Her body temperature was 93. Budgies die at the temperature of 92. They put her in the incubator, and gave her a 20% chance of living. Unfortunately, Blueberry passed away the very next day. We got her body back, and buried her in the back yard, next to my dead hamster named Finley. Today (1/1/24), Pineapple has been very curious to where Blueberry went. He kept looking around, but couldn't find her. He looked around where we found Blueberry on the floor. Pineapple is not that sad. I have ruled the mate as unsuccessful, as Blueberry (after 10 days) still didn't really feel comfortable to go to the nesting box. Budgies typically need another birdie companion with them, but upon further research, budgies can still thrive with a human companion. It's ok, and Pineapple can still be a great budgie. Blueberry lived a good life. We should look at the quality of life before the lifespan. Fly high Blueberry, and see you on the Rainbow Bridge <3
Blueberry is now my guardian angel, and I can feel her ghost perched on my shoulder. I will carry her around with me until I meet her at the Rainbow Bridge <3 ( • )> Love you Blueberry / ) ) Hope you're watching over me ' ' I also hope you're happy right now <3
