The Orphanage Part 1 Hannah Emma Williams was just an ordinary girl in the 1940s. She was born in 1942 as an only child who lived with her mother and her father. One day, in 1954, her life changed in the worst way possible. One quiet evening, as the sun sat, Hannah’s parents were listening to the news on the radio. Hannah thought that the news was “dull”, so she went outside to play. The sky was as white as the snow on the ground. She was grateful it was winter break, otherwise she would’ve been doing homework. Hannah played games and ran around in the snow, waiting for her parents to call her in at 6 P.M. for dinner. Hannah played for hours, until she realized something was not right. “Dinner was supposed to be an hour ago, right?” Hannah thought to herself, confused. Hannah suddenly became extremely anxious. Did her parents forget about her? Was there a severe weather warning? Was the news extra long today? Hannah hoped it was just a longer report than usual today. Hannah stepped inside anxiously and asked, “Hello? Is anyone there?” She got no response. “Is this a trick? Are you guys just joking around?” Hannah said, becoming more and more anxious. Hannah knew her parents would tell her if they ever had to go anywhere. The house was eerily quiet. Hannah could hear her heart beating like a drum. The radio was turned off, which was unusual. The news would still be on right now. It was dark outside, so she was hoping everyone was alright. She went upstairs to her parent’s bedroom to see if they were up there. She took a moment to breathe and prepare if they were going to pop out and try to scare her like they did a few years back, and then gently opened the door. “OH MY GOSH!” Hannah shrieked, screaming at the top of her lungs. Her parents lied on the floor, lifelessly. She ran as fast as her winter boots could carry her to the police. Before the police could say anything, Hannah yelled “MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!”
