Since lots of people are joining the STU, I thought it might be helpful to give advice to newbies. First, do some serious research on modeling. Modelling is the literal most important part in this universe because your entire military relies on this. You will have to model literally everything your military uses except for vehicles you bought from other nations. Do some practice, trace some vehicles or whatever but please work on your asset making skills. More people will take you seriously if your assets are good and realistic and it won’t give the rest of us headaches when looking at your projects. @Montreall and @coderrccl have some good tutorials, go check them out. Secondly, form alliances. Chances are high that once you’re introduced, you’ll likely face some dude that’ll immediately try to snatch your nation away from you. Be sure that you maintain good relations with your nearest nations and consider either joining SATO or the KP. Joining/forming alliances is the key to surviving here and growing. Crucially do this at the start because otherwise you’re risking being squashed like an ant. However being neutral has worked out for some people so do what you want. Next, learn STU lore!! This will help you A LOT to understand why wars are fought and why people hate each other. It will let you form your own opinion about who you want to support and what direction your nation will head to. Keep in mind that you can’t do a U turn and change your doctrine like a god so once you climb into a certain sphere of influence don’t expect to climb out easily. Additionally be aware of your surroundings. Natural resources and your access to the sea or the countries around you are very important to learn as it can tell you what will get you in trouble, what will make you powerful or what you can or can’t do. This is important because otherwise expect your nation to have the life span of a Cambodian life in 1975. This is also crucial to help your nation grow and develop instead of shriveling to dust and ashes. + Studying the world map is also important to understand politics and what countries are geographically important and why conflicts break out or what country has a monopoly on what resource. Also DO NOT MESS with strong nations or nations owned by moderators/senior members. They are likely very cocky/arrogant (me included) and will be more than happy to Biden blast you to nothingness. So do it later once you’re stronger militarily and economically or are in an alliance where everyone shares your opinion. After this it should be obvious to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be realistic. We all absolutely hate it when you make a laser tank, have 6 billion soldiers or win a war after 1 day with zero losses. We have experienced too many of these people and it makes everyone’s job wayyyyy harder. When planning military operations, please be realistic and consider your enemy instead of just going “yeahhh uhhh we killed them after 1 day and they were incompetent noobs”. This will likely get you uncanonised and hated on. Your enemy must be considered as a threat realistically according to their power and intelligence + they can share projects about military operations against you too so if everyone stays realistic it won’t give everyone headaches. Last of all, don’t steal assets. It’s just annoying and we have measures to deal with you if you do it. We all hate it, so ask for permission to use something and credit the original ower
