★ introduction - part one A young girl, eleven years of age, woke up on a crisp, yet sunny morning in the midst of summer. She sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes with the heel of her palm when a snow white owl appeared at her window, gripping onto the window sill. Her parents had left the window open that night because of the summer's heat during the day, in hopes to cool down the room for her to sleep. The owl flew into her bedroom and perched the bedpost, dropping a mysterious letter with a red stamp, embellished with the letter 'H' on it, onto her bed. And it had her name on it. Normally, letters were either addressed to her brother, Oliver, or her parents. But no, it was addressed to her in clean, yet pretty handwriting. She opened the letter, quickly and curiously, pulling out a sheet of parchment. Dear Miss Brianna Jane Wood, We are pleased to announce that you have been accepted into Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Below is the list of supplies you will need for your first year at Hogwarts. Please send your response promptly. Sincerely, Minerva McGonagall Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Brianna was confused, but exhilarated. She remembered hearing her brother talk all about Hogwarts, but not that she remembered all of it. She pulled off her sheets, put on her fuzzy slippers, walked down the hallway and down the stairs in her light blue nightgown, the letter in hand. She went into the kitchen, where the rest of her family was, setting the letter on the countertop. Oliver looked over curiously from a book he was reading and saw the letter with the stamp, then stood up and grabbed the letter quickly before Brianna could take it away, "Bree... you've been invited to Hogwarts." he said, reading the letter, a smile on his face. "She has?" Mr. Wood inquired, looking up from his newspaper. "Yes, she has!" Oliver exclaimed. Brianna nodded, a look of excitement on her face.
