Here’s her extra long backstory :D Waves crashed against the rocks, pounding in Mal’s tiny ears. She was terrified of the water. The fish, the darkness and all the mysteries it held, but, in truth, she never knew why. She had never been in the water, she had never touched it, but her fear was as real as the ears on her head. Mal shivered at the waters’ edge. She felt a pull, an urge to go in, but she also couldn’t make herself. Curious was what the other cats called her, but now she just couldn’t bring herself to see what was wrong with the water. Was anything even scary? She knew nothing good came from standing at the edge. It was time to dive. SPLASH! She heard echoes, bubbling sounds, eerie whispers and the water was darker than anything. I’m scared, she told herself. The water is scary, I can go now. I can’t breathe in here. But, strangely, in her heart she knew that wasn’t true. She had been here for several minutes. Most cats would have drowned. If she was truly scared, her tail would’ve puffed up, but it was smooth and scaly- she was like a fish. Now she truly started to panic. She could breathe, easily, better than on land. But how? She was just a cat. She kept swimming. Deep breaths, she told herself. Surely there will be someone down here to help me. …right? It was deeper than deep, but it was bright and sunny. She didn’t understand- how was this possible? “Hello! Are you lost?” Came a voice from what looked like a castle, covered in pearls, seashells and seaweed. “Um.. yes, I think so? I’m Mal- I thought I was a cat….” “Oh goodness, it’s happened to you too? Finally, a new arrival! The sea queens said this might happen! Oh goodness it’s great to meet you! I’m Angie- come on, let’s get you inside!”
