Excerpt (also in the forum version ^^): I wandered the desolate halls aimlessly, looking for anything that would tell me where to go. Eventually, I wound up at a tall door, blocking my path. My heart raced in my chest as I brushed my fingertips against the handle and swung open the door. Darkness filled the air beyond the oak frame. A shallow void just out of the light’s reach. I stepped forward, one foot in front of the other, walking a straight path through the shadows–until my forearm was grabbed away and I was pulled into another room. Shadowed eyes met mine. Eyes darker than the darkness that surrounded us. I felt like I was deep underwater, where the light no longer shined, my body floating around in the depths, never to be seen again. The moment was over all too quickly as the girl shook me violently from my trance. My eyes adjusted gradually, and soon I could see her entire face, not just her enchanting eyes. She had thin, navy lips and inky hair that covered her completely. She pressed a finger to my lips, urging my silence. Then, she pulled a match and sparked it with a dull blue flame. The light barely reached our faces, but the heat warmed us to the core. Without saying a word, she held out her arm, match in hand, and illuminated a hidden staircase, tucked into a corner. She gently grabbed my fingers and pulled me along with her. Up and up we climbed, going at least six floors before we came to a slow stop at the final floor. A large circular window stood before us, a cold light pouring in from the outside. Finally, the girl turned to me. “I am Môr. Thank you for following me all this way.” She smiled. “If you wouldn’t mind following me just a bit further—” “Absolutely not,” I cut her off. Her eyes drifted downward as she slowl;y reached out an arm and pointed down the hallway. “Please-my room is just down that way a few feet.” I rolled my eyes but followed her reluctantly. She led me down the hall, her shoes clicking against the floorboards ominously. She came up to a specific door along a row of them. She stood in front of it for several seconds before lifting her knee and kicking it open. She quickly stumbled forward, fumbling around the wall until the light flickered on, illuminating the space in front of us. She grabbed my arm, pulling me in and then shutting the door as quickly as she opened it.
