I have not read the books in forever lmbo, so some of this may be wrong ^^” ————————————————————————— The day should have been normal. But nothing, was normal. Lorelei Annalise. District 1. Age 16. A career. A perfect match for the Reaping. Yes, today was it. The annual Hunger Games, the game that everyone would dread. And today was that day. Leii stepped out of bed, sighing as she made her way to the town square. Everyone was there, watching as a small pink cat made her way to the stage. Leiis mind wandered as fae was escorted to where all the she-cats were kept, away from the toms. The age range was 12 to 18, and Leii was somewhere close to the middle of that. She didn’t listen to what the cat on stage was saying. It wasn’t important. The only thing that mattered was who was picked from the the two big glass balls planted on the podium. One for the she-cats and one for the toms. Thats the way things would work. ‘’ Like always, ladies first! ‘’ The sentence was a bit too enthusiastic for such a bleary day, but it was what brought Leii back to the present. Her stomach churned as the cat dipped a dainty paw in the ball that held the names of all the the teenage she-cats in the whole of District 1. Leii didn’t know what to think, so instead she watched. It was all she /could/ do as a small peice of paper was unwrapped. Somewhere in this crowd, the cat onstage was holding some she-cats life in her paws. ‘’ Lets see here . . . ‘’ It seemed to take forever, though it was only a couple seconds. Leii looked around, wondering if fae knew that cat that would be picked. ‘’ Lorly Annaleese? ‘’ For a minute, Leii didn’t know that was her name, since it had been pronounced wrong. But soon after, a peacekeeper from her District walked up and whispered something in her ear. ‘’ Oh! ‘’ ‘’ Lorelei Annalise ‘’ Cold dread hollowed out Leii as the name was called. ‘’ Lorelei Annalise ‘’ ‘’ Lorelei Annalise ‘’ ‘’ Lorelei Annalise ‘’ ‘’ Lorelei Annalise ‘’ ‘’ Leii ‘’ Faces turned to watch as Leii slowly padded up. They knew fae was . . . different . . . in a way they could never understand. It was what made her perfect for the games. She didn’t feel emotion. No joy. No sadness. No lonleyness. Anger was what she felt the best. She didn’t know anything else. ‘’ Ah! Here’s our pretty lady now ‘’ Pinky purred. Leii had decided on that name awhile back, since she didn’t really care to know her actual name. ‘ Pretty lady ‘ was very true. With her oversized cream pelt, covered with splotches of charcoal grey. Her eyes were a light blue and a light green. Pastels. Although, under that exterior, was a ruthless killer. Leii wasn’t afraid to kill someone if it meant she would save faer own life. Her face remained emotionless as the tom was chosen. It wasn’t anyone fae recognized. Yet again, she didn’t know many of the toms in her District. A relationship wasn’t anywhere near a priority of hers. Besides, there were better cats that she would, if ever, like, then the toms. They faced eachother. What was that in his eyes? Fear? It gave Leii a sick satisfaction. This cat knew she could and would kill him whenever she got the chance. They touched noses, and when they did, Leii could feel him trembling. As they walked into the big building, Lorelei thought about her current predicament. Had fae ever thought she would be chosen in the reaping? '' Too bad I'm the bet that you lost in the Reaping '' Leii had heard that before. It was from way before her time, and her mother had never let Leii sing it, but it was around. '' Too bad I'm the daughter you lost in the Reaping '' Yes. That was it. '' Too bad I'm the daughter you lost in the Reaping, now what will you do when I go to my grave ''
