Rumours had it that she was beautiful. But many said she was a devil. A devil in a body of a beautiful, gorgeous young lady. If you stared into her eyes, your soul was hers. They said she keeps the souls of her victims in small glass jars at her house. Who even was she? Mark wondered. Was she as beautiful as they say? Or as frightening as they say? The door opened wide. A tall, thin and white girl walked in. She had long blonde hair, till her waist. Her bangs were covering her eyes, but you could see a glimpse of those grayish blue eyes. Mark looked up, curious. The girl walked over to him, putting her bag down and sitting on the chair besides Maek. She looked at him, smiling with her cherry red lips. "Hello." She softly said, her voice sounded like an angel. Mark smiled. His smile was kind of wide, but she found it cute. "Hi! I'm Mark, and you?" He tilted his head. "I'm Daphne." Her smile widened. The bell rang. Daphne stood up, walking away. Ben and Steve quickly ran over to Marks desk. "Dude!" Ben whined. "You know that's HER?" "Who?" Mark said, oblivious. "He's gone crazy." Steve told Ben, no expression on his face. He was obviously sarcastic. "Mark!!" Ben snapped. "She's the devil!" "Eh.." Mark grimaced. "You believed this shj? She seemed kind!" "Thats it!" Ben snapped his fingers. "You're a goner! You're done! You've fallen into her trap." "For God's sakes Ben.." Mark sighed. "Stop making such a big deal of it, people say lots of things about people here." "Oh okay!" Ben crossed his arms. "If your soul gets trapped in one of those jars, ive warned you!!" "Hmph.." Mark muttered, looking out of the window. He saw Daphne in the yard, reading a book. She was alone, all alone. People were standing in groups far from her, whispering. Mark picked up his bag and ran out. "Bye guys!!" "He's a goner." Ben hissed. "Daphne!" Mark grinned, sitting next to her. "What're you doing here alone?" When Daphne turned around her head, looking at his eyes, Mark saw tears. "Why are you crying?" He quickly wiped away the tears. "Am I frightening?" Daphne said, her soft voice flying in Marks ears. "No! Definitely not! You're beautiful." Mark smiled. "Am I? Really?" Daphne managed a small smile. Mark nodded. He had looked into her eyes.... After that day, all the unlucky things that could've happened, happened to Mark. He got late to school, forgot his lunchbox, got soaked in rain, and more horrible things. He did wonder, was it because of Daphne? It's been 3 weeks since that day, almost a month. Mark sighed, sitting on his chair. Daphne approached him, sitting next to him. Mark, a straightforward person, leaned close to her and looked into her eyes. "Are you a magician?" He said, seriously. "What?" She stuttered. "Why would you think that?" "Every since I looked into your eyes when you were crying, unlucky things have been happening to me!!" Mark leaned back against his chair, crossing his arms. "Why!!??" "I'm sorry.." She looked down. "It's my jinx." "Your what?" Mark leaned his arms on the table, raising a brow. "My jinx. If I look into someone's eyes, unlucky things happen to them.. that's why I grew my bangs." Daphne let out a sigh. "I'm sorry.. there's only one way to break this jinx-" She stopped mid sentence, her face growing red. "What?" Mark raised his voice, standing up. "Nothing.." She looked down. "There's no way to break the jinx." "Urgh.." Mark sat down, grimacing. "The only way is for you to stop seeing me. I'll change my seat." She stood up, but Mark grabbed her hand. "Why?" He smiled. "Nevermind it, this doesn't really bother me. I'll get used to it." "Why?" Daphne looked into his eyes again, making a sad expression. "Why do you want to keep seeing me?" "You're not as bad as they say!!" Mark insisted. "I want to help you to show them." "Why do I have to do that." Daphne nervously looked down, fiddling with her fingers. "You have lack of confidence, that's bad Daphne." He said, standing up. "I want the school to see this side of you, the beauty of your kind heart." Mark grinned. "How should I do that?" She looked up, liking she idea, she was still nervous though. Looking into Mark's chocolate brown eyes. "There's a school a few days later, come and play as the second main role! I'm the Prince, you be the princess. The princess is such a kind character, and only kind people can play as kind characters!" Daphne felt happy. He was the first person who had accepted her as who she was. He was an amazingly kind person.. It was the day, finally. Daphne clenched her fists and took a deep breath, stepping on the theatre scene. She looked into Mark's eyes. He bowed. "My princess, will you dance with me?" He let out his hand. Daphne smiled, holding his hand. Daphne looked into his eyes. "Thank you for everything." She whispered, smiling. "Now ill break the jinx." She slowly moved her head closer, placing her lips onto his. Mark closed his eyes. ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ︶⏝⏝︶⏝ . ⏝︶⏝⏝︶
