◦°☆ Chapter Three☆°◦ The next morning, Eleanor rushed to the Great Hall and almost tripped going downstairs. "Ellie, over here!" Meadow called, now that Eleanor was in the Great Hall. Eleanor went to sit with Meadow, Ashley, and Macy. "Hi, guys." Eleanor said as she sat down. She reached for a cinnamon bun and a piece of french toast. "Are you ready for our classes today?" Ashley asked. "I studied all summer." Macy said quietly. "Then you'll be ready for everything, Macy!" Meadow said. "Hey, Macy. Do you want to hang out with us later? Like maybe during our study time, we can head out to the lake." Eleanor asked. "Yeah, sure! No one's ever asked me that before." Macy said. A while later, it was time for Charms with Slytherins. "Good morning, class. Today we are learning the levitating spell, Wingardium Leviosa." Professor Flitwick said. Eleanor was sitting next to Athena Jacobs, a Hufflepuff, and was already trying the spell. "Wingardium Leviosa!" Eleanor said. Her feather went up in the air. "There you go! A perfect example of the spell. Good job, Miss Lupin! 10 points to Gryffindor!" Professor Flitwick said. Some kids frowned, seeing that Eleanor got it perfect. Her friends, though, were just focusing on the spell. After Charms, the Gryffindors headed towards Potions with the Ravenclaws. Professor Snape was waiting for them inside. As soon as everyone sat down, Snape started talking and said "There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. Now, flip to page 5 and create the Cure for Boils.". Eleanor flipped to page 5 and got to work. Her potion had to be orange. After six minutes, her potion was turning orange and was almost done. She added stewed horned slugs and heated the potion. It turned red and Eleanor took it back to her table. Ten more minutes passed, and Professor Snape started examining the potions. He stopped at Eleanor's potion and said "Good job, Miss Lupin. Wonderful potion.". He was actually smiling and had a look that said "I may hate your father, but great job.". Then it was time to meet Meadow, Leah, Ashley, Abby, Macy, Athena, Micheal, and Jonathan at the lake, as they were already there. "This is a rather large party, isn't it?" someone said. Everyone turned around. "I must introduce myself. I'm Louise Weasley." The girl said. "It is large, and you can join us if you want, Louise." Abby said. "Sure!" Louise said as she plopped down into an empty spot. Everyone started talking to each other. Meadow and Louise started suggesting different appearances for Eleanor to change into. She changed her nose to a pig snout and her hair bubble-gum pink. Leah and Jonathan were arguing about who was the better twin. Micheal and Athena were talking about the houses and got into an argument of which house was better: Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Ashley and Macy were talking about their favorite books. By the time their break time ended, everyone had become friends. When Eleanor went up to her dorm room, she found Dawn and Celia sitting on her bed. "Hey Eleanor." Dawn said. "How'd you two get into my room?" Eleanor asked. "Not important." Celia said. "Well, mum and dad sent you a letter. I got it for you since you were with your friends." Dawn said. She gave Eleanor a letter. "Thanks. What are you two doing here anyways?" Eleanor said. "Mum sent me a letter, and I could tell that she was sad about something. We couldn't figure out why, so we thought that you might know." Celia responded. She handed Eleanor a letter. Eleanor read it and figured out why almost immediately. "She's upset about dad. That's the only explanation." She replied. "This is why you are really good at decoding letters." Celia said. "Maybe we should write to mum. Just check on her. She's been sad each time dad leaves for his transformations. Mum loves to braid my hair while he goes out. Now that we've all gone to Hogwarts, she's feeling sadder than usual." Eleanor said. "You're right. She has been feeling sad." Dawn replied. Celia nodded. The two left and went to their own dorms. The rest of that day, she was thinking about how her mum was doing and if she was well without them. It just wouldn't leave her mind.
