a semi-unfinished knife fighting game i made a while back after hearing Lemon Demon's "Knife Fight". initially didn't want to publish, but eventually pressured myself into doing so anyways ***CONTROLS*** WASD to move (R to dash backwards) Space to pick up & drop weapons Click to attack with a weapon Mouse to aim this game uses frame freezing, a design choice, not a bug. if you want to disable, press m
warning: please do not attempt to recreate this situation at home (knives are very sharp do not play with them please and thank you) ***v0.4.0 Update*** - enemies can now try to use the "parry" move - enemies will circle in for the kill if the player is low on hp and they are not - certain enemies will behave incredibly aggressively on low hp instead of cautiously - fixed an issue with enemy blood - touched up the game page a little bit - press n to kill enemy, m to load an enemy if no enemies are present (be warned, this gets laggier as it goes on) ***COOL TIPS*** - Enemies start bleeding constantly when they are at one hp remaining (this happens with the player too) - Enemies can be pretty smart sometimes! each one has a distinct, simulated "personality", which decides their playstyle - Enemies (depending on their personality & situation) will try to block incoming attacks by placing their knife in front of them (the player can do this too!!) ***ADVANCED TRICKS*** --=--Knife Stop ★★☆☆☆ Intentionally turn your character's knife into a nearby one to get freeze frames and some time to react --=--Parry ★★★★☆ Swing a butcher knife to block incoming knives While more effective than blocking, it is certainly more difficult due to the few frames butcher knives swing for (Can also be executed with a well-timed knife throw) --=--Block ★★☆☆☆ Position a knife between you and an enemy to block While far easier than parrying, this does not always work due to the distance between you and your knife --=--Shank ★★★☆☆ Get up close and personal with a ranged knife and throw it then grab it again to deal a bunch of damage --=--Double-Dash ★★☆☆☆ After dashing, follow up with another dash in rapid succession. This dash is stronger than the first --=--Triple-Dash ★★★★☆ After double dashing, you can follow up with one final dash. This third dash is stronger than the second, and the window to get it is super tight
