Yuji felt as if he was using Chulseo for his own benefit, although Chulseo just volunteered to take him in. It still ate him from the inside. It was snowing outside. Chulseo's grandmother had made them hot tea to warm them up, and left to the Haoji Bazaar. She worked there. Yuji sat on the chair in the living room, close to the window. He listened to the sound of the gentle rustling in the fireplace, holding the cup of tea. He closed his eyes. He wondered, Why did his mom abandon him? Why did his dad left him to live with Jina? If his dad didn't even want to live with Jina, why did he marry her in the first place? Just to leave Yuji behind? Was he a nuisance in their life? Was he a useless piece of living that was good for nothing? Was he even enough for this world? All this thoughts hurt his head, he didn't mind. He continued thinking about it. He had friends with him, very good ones. They had supported him a lot. Daniel would still help him in studies although he transferred schools, Chulseo would stand up for him, Mihao would protect him from rumours or trouble, Jihoon and Seojin would crack jokes to make him laugh in hard times, and Yunseo would make him smile. But yet, why did he feel alone? He had these wonderful people, yet he felt useless and alone. He felt as if he isn't fit for this world. Tears formed in his eyes, rolling down slowly. He groaned, this feeling was awful. It made his heart ache. Why? Why did his parents do this to him? Is Jina looking for him now? Or does she even care? This thoughts roamed around his head. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulders, startling him. Yuji flinched. "Chul..?" He turned around, seeing Chulseo. His hair was wet, and a towel was hanging from his shoulder. He was wearing one of Yuji's t-shirt. "I'm gonna wash all my shirts, they're dirty. I 'ont have much either, so... I borrowed your shirt. Do you mind?" Chulseo did a nervous grin. "No I don't.. I have plenty." Yuji smiled in response, forgetting he was crying. "Hey you're crying?" Chulseo said, concerned. "I told you you're gonna be fin-" "I'm okay.." Yuji sighed, looking down. "I just.. don't know. Am I useless? A nuisance... why did my parents leave me?" "Yuji you're not a nuisance!!" Chulseo snapped. "I 'ont wanna be rude but your parents were dumb for leaving you behind. You're a special child!" "You think so? But I'm the worse at studying.. I'm good at physics yet I fjk up everything.." "Nah grades ain't important." Chulseo his eyes. "What's more important is that you're satisfied. Grade is just a number, indeed it can identify any problems or improvements, but you yourself need to see those, not a number." "You talk like a mom." Yuji laughed, feeling comforted. "Shut up!" Chulseo gritted his teeth, and walked away to the kitchen. "I'm making food. Just drink your tea already!!' "Okay.." Yuji softly smiled. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⭒ "I'm home!" Daniel said, opening the door. "Dan!!" Josh ran to him. "Dan I got full marks on my exams!" "Oh really?" Daniel knelt down in front of his brother, smiling. "Which ones?" "I got math 47/50, and for Japanese I got a 48/50! But all others are full marks." Josh grinned, revealing his fallen teeth. "Amazing!" Daniel cupped his chin with one hand, gently. "Your teeth fell?" "Yes it fell this morning!!" "Alright." Daniel smiled. "Go to your room, I'll play with you after my studies." "Okay hyung!" Josh said, running upstairs to his room. Daniel walked to his room as well. His house was huge. His family was pretty rich. His parents were both famous lawyers. Daniel set his bag against his desk. He didn't bother to change his uniform, he just untied his tie. He was tired, really tired. Nothing was going well in his school, and he was overwhelmed by work. But he didn't want to show it to Josh. He had to be the strong boy his parents expect him to be. He has to become a lawyer, just because of his parents. He has to fulfil all their wishes. And what's more, he has to convince Josh to become a lawyer. When Josh is older, and has to go to university, Daniel has to convince him to become a lawyer and study law in University. But he knew what Josh's real dream was. Josh always wanted to become a surgeon. Since he stepped in school, he had fallen in love with science. Since he learnt about some parts of body in Science at school, he had dreamt about being a surgeon. Daniel kept on worrying about this. He always wanted Josh to be happy and follow his own choices, so if he let's Josh to do what he wants, will his parents abandon him, and look down to him? He kept on thinking about these things, that he didn't notice Josh climbing up his desk. That boy was ten at that time, yet he had still wanted to be a surgeon no matter what Daniel says. "Dani..." Josh said, patting his head. "Oh Josh." Daniel quickly put a smile on his own face, +
+ trying to wash away those thoughts. "I'm kinda busy so sor-" "I'm not here to play brother!" Josh said, frowning, he looked serious. "I heard mom and dad talking last night!" When Josh didn't call his parents "mommy" and "daddy", and called them mom and dad, it meant he was angry. Daniel bit his lower lip, nervous. "They were talking to you about my dumb future!" Josh pouted, "I might still be a child, I might still be a minor, but my future is in my own hands." He was talking just like a real grown up now, Josh has always been mature for his age. "Am I not mature enough? I know I'm still ten, but in a few years I'll get to your age, fifteen, and I can go to university. I want to go to university sooner, possible right? I'm sure it's possible!" "Josh..." Daniel sighed. "Let me finish Hyung!" Josh firmly said. "I've always wanted to become a surgeon, you know that. And my parents also know, but I don't want you guys to plan my future behind my back and control me like a puppet. They're doing the same to you!" "Josh!" Daniel frowned. "Don't talk like that!" "Am I wrong?" Josh raised his voice. "We've always been mom and dad's puppets! They just want us to be lawyers. You've always wanted to be a lawyer, it was your dream, so I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about myself! I don't want to be a lawyer." He started crying. "I'm nobody's puppet! I'll make my own decisions about my own future! It's in my own hands. My future is MY puppet, not my parents! I thought you'd understand, that's why I wanted to talk to you.. but seems like you.. you want me to do what they say." Josh sniffed, and walked out. Daniel sighed, covering his face in his hands. Josh was right. They were their parents puppets... ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⭒
