I like to document this, head wear is somewhat of a trophy for banjo players. You can see a lot of wear on the place where my anchor fingers would rest, some wear on the top (from my thumb pick hitting the head,) as well as below the first two strings. And some slight wear near the top right, from clawhammer. My frets are wearing pretty fast, too. I'm gonna have to get a couple replaced, or go full minstrel style with no frets... LOL
The banjo is a Fender Bottlecap, most likely a 54 (you can't see the flange in the picture, but I assure you, it's a bottlecap!) It's got a Remo head, as you can see by the logo. We got it for cheap off of an old man who couldn't play anymore. It's got some problems (high action, crooked neck, raised tailpiece, most of which was caused by me throwing it around because I'm a Dave Macon wannabe.)
