Hey guys I'm finally back lol, this time with just a regular article! over the past few days the concept of "sephora tweens" has been really blowing up a lot. let's talk! I've never ever understood why anyone under the age of 12 or 13 has really needed skincare. (Unless they actually have acne because that can happen.) I do believe that 13 year olds can need skincare. That's the age when some people start getting acne, and they want to get rid of it. All of the older gen z and the millennials say that all teens need is a cleanser, moisturizer, and spf. I do agree, but they gotta understand that you're not going to magically get rid of acne with a soothing cleanser, they're going to need some sort of serum. Obviously not a retinol or anything, like no- of course they don't need that, no one under the age of 25 needs a retinol really, lol. Obviously something not to harsh on the skin either, that's easy to find so it's not a big problem. I feel like they need to leave the young teens alone because they will and do have skin issues even if the people criticizing dont think they do. They need to focus on the tweens... the parenting is a huge problem. These parents have willingly bought them these products that they don't need. Now obviously tweens or teens don't need an anti aging retinol, but i've seen these tweens use it more than the teens.. more specifically the D. Elephant serums?? Like yes I know they're all pink and cute and preppy but there's plenty of other products like that that can benefit your skin as opposed to damaging it. these kids need to get over the fact that they can't have a popular brand of skincare that they don't even need. they're nine, ten years old, they don't have acne. All they need is a cleanser, moisturizer, spf, lip balm and boom. perfect skin without the damaging expensive products you don't need. Start throwing those products into your routine when you ACTUALLY need them. It's not just how they're damaging their skin, its the way they're acting. They waltz into the stores, make huge messes on the testers and displays and are rude to not only the other customers around them when the 27 year old takes the last retinol they want, but to the employees of the store- who raised them??? T_T I don't understand why they think theyre so entitled and I never will lol. Being on the younger side of a teenager (13+ but under 16) I am afraid to walk into the stores and buy something because I don't want anyone to think I'm a bratty teen buying expensive skincare I need, and tbh I don't even have much money to spend so just let me go get my cheap lash serum and cheap byoma moisturizer in peace please ._. I would also never dream of being rude to an employee it just feels wrong- so be a good example and representer to restore everyones faith in teenagers and tweens at the beauty store and just be polite for pete's sake it's not that hard xD lmk your opinions!!
