150 Years After The Flames of Hope An Icewing (A/N it says it's spelled wrong *eye roll*) was fleeing across the dusty dunes. The sandstorm hid her, but made it impossible to fly. That, and the egg. I’ll never make it like this. I’m going to die, she thought to herself. The wind picked up and the grains of sand stung her eyes. No, I can’t, I have to make it out alive. She had barely escaped the palace, and now she was exhausted. The wind whipped around her head, making her dizzy. The shape inside the egg shifted, making her loose orientation for a minute. The sand came harder and harder, and she fell, letting the wind blow a covering of sand over her.. And then it went dark. (dream) The palace walls shimmered against the sunlight. Aurora tiptoed past the throne room. She won’t notice me, she thought. An ice shard snapped under her talons Oops. The dragon froze. An uneasy feeling came over her as she realized her mistake. “AURORA” a voice bellowed from the throne, “COME HEAR RIGHT NOW AND TELL ME WHY THE MOONS YOU ARE SNEAKING AROUND AGAIN” Queen Polar’s voice echoed painfully off the walls. “Yes, your majesty.” Aurora responded calmly, “I was going to the kitchens to ask for some ice cream.” “Sure,” the queen responded slyly, pulling something out from behind her, “then why was this egg in your quarters hidden from sight?” Polar was always straight to the point, especially when someone was in danger. I’m the one in danger, Aurora realized. “Your majesty, I can exp-” “Don’t explain this, I already figured it out, darling.” She got up and started pacing, “This is forbidden. This deserves death. This is a hybrid egg, isn’t it, Aurora?” She spat the last words out like a rotten penguin egg. “Yes,” she mumbled. “What? I can’t hear you. Say that again?” Her cousin said imperiously “Yes.” “Well, I could kill you, but you're too valuable to me alive. I guess I’ll just do this.” Polar slammed the egg on the floor, shattering it. The little light teal dragonet, male, sprawled across the pool of albunem. Aurora wanted to scream, she wanted to attack the queen, she wanted to cave the palace in on all these dragons, but she just left quietly. ‘There's another egg, I can still have dragonets, even if it’s just one. They didn’t find it, I need to grab it and run, run far from the ice and snow, away from the evil queen, to the rainforest.’ I’ll run, I’ll hide. Anything to protect my dragonet
