Credits: @Little-Blue-Star for the Octoling with namper Me for the Inkling with vstamper (the only reason I'm not pink hair is because I want hair variety) (I would do more but like CHAINSAW WOMEN YAY) (Thumb by prochara on yt) Hello, welcome to Splatoon 3 Competitive Talk! For previous episodes, here: 1. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/946127021 2. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/946499052/ 3. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/946764758/ Last episode, there were three main weapons that I called a vote on: Stamper, Pencil, and Squeezer; because they have all had pretty interesting lifetimes. Stamper won because Indigo voted for it yippee (late birthday gift??) So! We got the Splatana Stamper, a main weapon with two kits, the vanilla, with Burst Bomb and Zip, and Neo, with Mist and Crab. I'm going to just say it now, the vanilla kit is an X tier and the Neo kit is... S?! I will talk about why both of these kits are in their respective places on the tier list. (Made by ProChara on YouTube/Twitch/Twitter) First of all, the vStamper is just generally the more viable kit because of the synergy (i.e. more combos, zip stamper skrimisher) but I'm going to talk about nStamper first, because it's a shorter topic. Neo Stamper got Mist and Crab, which is good and bad at the same time. First of all, Mist is overall a less powerful sub, so it got looked down on by most players, but not all (I'm looking at you, Indigo...) of them. There are some combos that nStamper could do. First of all, you could v(ertical)slash >> mist >> h(orizontal)slash for a kill. The same thing works with two vslashes. Mist can also make Crab more effective by stunting your opponent's movement. Plus, Crab is just a pretty good special in general. Basically, the only reason that nStamper is an S tier rather than an X is because vStamper outshines it in multiple categories (sorry Indigo D:). So that moves the topic to vStamper, the one with Burst Bomb and Zip. vStamper was decently pretty solidly okay at the beginning of the game. Cool, burst combos! Lots of range (it could comfortably out-range the longest ranged shooter) and it was decently viable in competitive Splatoon, but not viable enough to be used in major tournaments. Later on, Stamper received an object damage buff which helped it break crab (a special high in the meta) more easily. This tremendously helped it, making it a really viable weapon. In the future, it recieved a large ink efficiency nerf, but all it did was make some players substitute some gear abilities that were pretty minor, so in short, it barely did anything. Stamper never really got any more buffs or nerfs from that point on, so it left off really good. So maybe you're wondering, "What makes vstamper better than namper?!" The kit. Zipcaster sword goes brrr while crab sword goes slightly less brrr. Need I say more? Also mist and crab go together well, but burst bomb is just overall better. Ask me questions and make recommendations for what I should cover next!
