Trigger Warning: Blood/minor injuries Specklestep nodded at Snowkit, and he stepped outside once more. Snowkit felt the cold snow on his paws. He took another step. Then another. And then, all at once, he was running through the camp, hopping around playfully in the snow. Suddenly, he tripped over a jagged stone and tumbled down the hill. His head hit the branches of a tree, a trickle of blood climbing down Snowkit’s face. In a few moments, Specklestep was at his side, carrying him to the medicine den. Snowkit looked up and saw the busy outline of Wrenclaw, the PineClan medicine cat, working busily and adjusting her glasses. Beside her, a fluffy white kit was handing her herbs from a pile for her to sort. “Specklestep! Oh, hey. You must be her kit. Jadekit, hand me some cobwebs from the medicine storage!” Jadekit nodded and grabbed some cobwebs from the storage to patch up Snowkit’s scratch. “Thank you,” Wrenclaw said, applying the cobwebs to Snowkit’s fur. “Mom?” Jadekit asked Wrenclaw, walking over to Snowkit curiously. “What happened to him? Is he okay?” “Yes, Jadekit. Just a scratch. Can you get some poppyseed, please? Second shelf from the top left, next to the dock leaves.” Jadekit nodded again and handed Snowkit the poppyseed. “These will help it hurt less,” Jadekit whispered to him. “You just lick them off of your paw.” Snowkit did so, nervously sitting up. “Mom? Since he’s better now, can we go play outside, please?” Jadekit asked, brushing his tail against Snowkit’s shoulder. “Maybe in a little. He needs to rest for now,” Wrenclaw relplied. Jadekit sighed, but smiled at Snowkit hopefully. “Do you wanna play mossball? It’s pretty easy.” “Okay,” Snowkit agreed. Jadekit picked up some extra moss from the storage and tossed it to Snowkit. “Wrenclaw says we shouldn’t use moss as much since it’s leafbare, but this one is mine, so we can use it. Basically, we just throw it to each other until someone drops it.” Snowkit threw the mossball to Jadekit, and he whacked it with his paw and sent it flying back across the room. It landed softly on the ground next to Snowkit. “Aw, I win,” Jadekit said, picking up the mossball and setting it in the corner. “Good try, though. You can throw really well, for have just being hurt.” Snowkit grinned and laid down on the nest in the den. “Jadekit, let Snowkit rest now,” Wrenclaw told him. Jadekit nodded and smiled at Snowkit before bounding out into the snow.
