- Kitsune’s Pre-Parade - Kitsune entered the dressing room, looking around. She had never seen the inside of a dressing room before. Shortly after she had entered the room, in came her stylists. Before she even had time to say hello, they were already babbling like a bunch of jabber-jays, measuring her, and picking out clothes for her to wear. “H-hey!” She said, as one of them took her Kitsune Mask and set it down on the table. “That’s mine!” Kitsune was determined to get her mask back, but just as she lifted her paw, two of them were all over her with black dye. “Hey- what-“ She tried to protest, but soon she was jet black from the tip of her ears down to her paw pads. Before she could reflect on her new appearance, she was whisked over to a seat by a mirror, where she could get a good look at herself as one of the stylists started to paint her with gold makeup. Before long, Kitsune had beautiful gold misty swirls around her eyes, and her paws, ears, and tail faded to glittering gold. Now Kitsune stood, trying to understand what the people around her were planning. Just then, she found four white, futuristic boots laid out in front of her, along with a black visor in the shape of her kitsune mask. She slipped the boots onto her paws, and immediately holographic wings of golden blades waved out from the back of the heels. As Kitsune admired these, one of them helped put the visor over her face. ‘What’s the point of putting makeup on my face if no one gets to see it?’ Kitsune thought, as she felt something being placed on her back. - Kitsune’s Parade - Kitsune stepped up onto her chariot, looking around. Surprisingly, she was still able to see through the visor, which puzzled her, but when it came to making tributes pieces of art, those stylists knew everything. The chariot she was standing on was jet black, with a small temple, made of silver metal, with tall pillars, cut in half and hovering with golden yellow light in between the two halves of silver pillar, perched on the end of the silver railing of the chariot. Kitsune looked around at the temple, taking in the scene. Noticing that the temple had an entrance, she peered inside, but just then, the chariot began moving. Kitsune jerked forward, tumbling into the temple’s darkness, hidden in the shadows. When the chariot came into view, it appeared to be empty, tribute-less, moving only by the two white horses pulling it down the cobblestone road. The crowd’s cheers died away in their confusion. Murmuring arose, but just then, mist began to drift out of the temple’s mouth, and flow over from the tops of the pillars. The crowd started to cheer, as golden glitter clouds began to billow out with the dense fog. Suddenly, two golden yellow eyes appeared in the darkness. A gasp rippled through the crowd, as a golden paw stepped out of the shadows. Kitsune elegantly entered the sea of mist and golden fog, her wing frames unfolding like a living, twiggy tree rising out of the ground. Kitsune looked around at the cheering crowd, who were gasping and pointing at the twiggy wing frames. Kitsune looked around, and she stamped her front paw, as she had been told to do by one of her stylists. Instantly, the mist got thicker as it poured out harder, and it enveloped even the light of Kitsune’s mask. There was a heavy silence, as the cheering died down with cats shushing each other. Suddenly, a huge gust of wind shattered the veil of mist. Standing in front of the temple, wings spread wide, stands Kitsune, holographic, golden feather-blades filling her black wing frames. The same blade-like feathers appeared behind her heels, and at the edges of her visor mask. Her eyes opened, and she took in the dead silence. And then, an exploding tempest of cheering erupted from the crowds. Kitsune looked around, scanning the crowd. They were over the moon with excitement, screaming and hopping up and down, throwing roses onto the chariot. Kitsune smiled and bowed, spreading her wings as wide as they would go, mist curling around her paws and in between the blades of her wings. Kitsune lifted a rose to her nose, smelling it. “Thank you.” She said, doing a small circle around the chariot to show off her costume. “I hope i won’t disappoint you.” Kitsune only now realized the parade was over. Or so she thought. It was only when she turned off her holographic blades with her boots, and was about to remove her mask that her chariot appeared on the other side. There were so many people, virtual avatars running around cheering. Kitsune was surprised, looking around with confusion and awe. ‘Look at all these cats.’ She thought, looking around with amazement. She stepped forwards, cats cheering and crowding around her, talking all at once, while in the background some feasted and laughed, like they weren’t about to witness Kitsune’s death within a few days time, while festive carts offered plates of holographic food. Kitsune briefly thought about how ridiculous virtual [+]
[+] food that you couldn’t eat was, before she noticed they were shouting something at her. “Turn the wings on!” “Turn ‘em on!” “We wanna see the wings!” Kitsune looked around and smiled, stamping her front right paw as she had before. The blade feathers that filled her wings ignited with a golden yellow flash, along with the blades around her mask and boots. The crowd, somehow, cheered even louder, as thundering, booming music was hammering in Kitsune’s ears, and lights were flooding her vision, but Kitsune found she was happy they were so pleased by her performance. Kitsune raised her wings, flapping them elegantly, and blowing a gale of golden dust from the floor of her chariot into the crowd, who positively screamed with excitement. Kitsune flapped harder, and to her surprise, her last hard gust of wind levitated her in the air momentarily. Kitsune tried again, harder and harder, until a whole storm of dust was flying everywhere. And to the amazement of all viewers, holographic and physical, Kitsune soared upwards into the air. She couldn’t escape from the parade, no, her stylists had made sure of that, but she could fly quite a height upwards, looking down at the screaming crowd below. She swooped down, weaving in between the pillars of her chariot, going in a circle around the temple, before gently coming to a stop on the the ground, surrounded by the roaring crowd. So many were cheering, so excited to see Kitsune actually /flying/, and in such wonder and awe of her performance. They wanted to try on Kitsune’s costume and fly themselves, but Kitsune wasn’t sure she was allowed to give them her costume so they could soar like she had. Kitsune saw a young capitol cat trying to squeeze her way up to Kitsune, but it seemed like she would miss her. “E-excuse me.” She said, squirming her way to Kitsune. Kitsune smiled, beckoning the capitol cat to her. “And who might you be?” Kitsune asked. “I-i’m Azul.” She introduced herself. “How were you flying earlier?” Azul asked. Kitsune shrugged. “You’ll have to ask my stylists, they made the costume, not me.” She said, warmly and truthfully. Azul disappeared into the cheering crowd again with a smile. Just then Kitsune noticed another cat, in the sea of holograms, taking notes so fervently that Kitsune expected the notepad to combust into flames at any moment, the Capitol’s crest bold on their apparel. Kitsune and the cat’s eyes locked for one second, just one second. Kitsune raised her wings and took off again, soaring over the heads of those on the side, picking up the roses off of her chariot to let go of over their heads, millions of paws reaching up to grasp them. Kitsune still watched the cat taking notes, her eyes narrowed to slits to try and make out every detail about the cat and commit it to memory. Kitsune landed on the chariot, folding her wings up as she bowed. “Thank you for your support!” She shouted to the crowd. “It has made this night a wonderful night, and probably the most eventful one of my life!” She smiled, sweetly, her thoughts full of her memory of the fire. /nothing/, could be more eventful than that day. “It has been a great pleasure meeting you, and performing for you! I would like to give special credit to my stylists, who made this amazing outfit for me!” She blew a bit more golden dust up around her. “あなたは素晴らしい聴衆でした!” Kitsune added in her first language. The crowd cheered, as Kitsune’s chariot began to leave. Kitsune took the halo hovering over her head and threw it into the air, shouting out “第7地区の天使を決して忘れないでください! Never forget!” As the halo landed among the crowd. And then her chariot disappeared behind the curtain, and she was seen no more. But just before she was out of sight, she flashed a dark grin. “そうでなければ、あなたに災いあれ.” -- Tell me if i need to change anything! ~ Kitsune -- written by @Stardust6494 Song is Disassembly Required from Murd3r Drones OST --
