My drawing is of a ghost from the 1920s. During her life she was a flapper [a woman who basically rebelled from being 'ladylike' which meant short skirts, cutting their hair into bobs, basically being a 'rebel'] The feeling I went for was sadness. And the constant expectations of women throughout history. These expectations are now considered 'sexist'. The expedition to clean and cook, but also take care of the husband. You have to have tons of children, but managed to take care of them all! Because if you didn't, and if you took a break to breathe, you were a bad wife. As well as societies current beauty expectations. Must have a big bust, but not too big because then its 'too much to handle' You have to wear makeup, but not to much or your trying to hard. You wear a tank top or something that's showing the slightest about of skin 'your asking for it' It's stupid. Bit anyways, in this drawing she's still smiling because if I woman said something they could have been executed [true facts, not in the 1920s but somewhere on the Victorian era it ended with the execution stuff.
Also, I stuck to blue cuz that's the color that is used to represent sadness :D and the yellow is a pop of color! The light in the dark if you will!
