By the way, this takes place in the fourth year :) Warning- Slightly disturbing text ahead. Please read with caution :) Screams... Murder... Reality slipping... It was all she felt anymore... Unforgiveable curses snapping in her mind every second... Blasts of green light... Wait, no. That was the light coming from her bedroom window. She was in her room again, not a nightmare landscape. Thank goodness. Rose yawned, stretching her arms into the air. She slowly placed her foot onto the cold, wood floor. Getting out of bed, she rubbed her eye- er, where an eye was supposed to be. "Yes, she's perfectly capable of going back next year." Rose stopped in her own tracks. Putting fresh bandages on her eye, she practically ran to the door. "I'm not sure... She's..." The voice sighed. "She's not mentally stable anymore. She's... becoming like me." Rose's eyebrows furrowed. Her mother and Aunt Narcissa were talking about her again. They were talking about her like she couldn't hear a darn word they were saying. Rose pressed her ear harder to the door. "Nonsense. That's a good thing-" "No, Cissy. I mean me," Bellatrix paused. "back then." Silence. Rose could practically feel the awkward stares they were giving each other. "But she seems fine!" Narcissa noted quickly. "She's not. She talks to herself in her sleep. The things she says..." Rose could hear her mother begin to cry. Right. She forgot about that. The reason she was back home is because of her 'sleep talking incident'. She continued to listen, being careful not to make a sound. "They sent her home because they were SCARED of her, Narcissa. She's just not the same! She's... sadistic... and awful." "She could just be a teenager..." "It's different than that. She wants to..." Bellatrix paused again. "She wants to HURT people." More awkward silence. Rose clenched the doorknob in anger, yet still being as quiet as a mouse. Only to release it and flop back onto her creaky bed. What was the point? She was just going to get more angry and end up complicating the entire situation. When she was just about to snatch her headphones, she heard a knock on the door. Great. "Sweetheart? Are you awake?" "Yeah, Mom. I'm awake." She said reluctantly. The door opened with a screech. Bellatrix came over and sat on her bed gently. "How was your sleep?" Rose didn't answer, instead, rolled over. Bellatrix cleared her throat. "Um... I made your favorite cinnamon rolls. Why don't you come out and eat with us? Aunt Narcissa is also here." "Mmm." "...Well, please come. When you're ready." And then she left. It had been three days since she left Hogwarts. Some girls in the Slytherin common room apparently heard her say some creepy stuff, and Dumbledore decided to suspend her until she got the whole 'sleep talking incident' figured out. "Pfft. Like that would ever happen." She scoffed to herself. "Don't they realize I can't control it?" But that was the lie. She COULD control it. Maybe. Severus Snape, one of the professors at Hogwarts, offered to teach her Occlumency, but she declined. If he got into her mind, everything would fall out of place. Her life would be destroyed. Better to be safe than sorry. But the more Rose thought about it, she knew Occlumency would help her understand her dreams, and maybe control them. Therefore, get rid of all the sleep talking and then she could go back to Hogwarts! But that wasn't an option. Rose sighed, rolling over again. Would she have to stay here for the rest of her life? Probability: 99.999% chance. Would she ever be able to explain what she was feeling to anyone else? Probability: 0.0001% chance. Awesome. "That does it." Rose got out of bed quickly. "If I can't go back, I'll find something else to do." She finished getting ready, grabbing her coat and a book from school. She got her phone, and listened through the door to see if anyone was out there still. "Draco doesn't mind... I'm sure if we could just find a way... I hope this doesn't change anything... Rose... Mentally insane..." They were still talking about her. She huffed, pulling up her window, and hopping lightly onto the soft dirt. "Ouch!" she whispered, looking at a freshly opened cut on her hand. She scratched herself on a dead rose bush. Her mother worked so hard to keep them alive, but eventually, they just shriveled up. That's alright. She liked them dead, for some reason. //That's probably a reason why I'm out of school.// Thought Rose, making sure not to make too much of a ruckus, for Bellatrix and Narcissa would hear her. She walked through the forest, shining her wand through the heavy, wet, fog. Dropping down onto her knees, Rose opened her 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' book.
'The Invisible Seeker lives in the deep parts of the forest and known for it's deadly way of sneaking up on it's victim. It will hide if it's victim turns around, but will try to scare the victim. This includes making strange noises, or mimicking voices of loved ones who have died. It will try to get it's victim to show emotion. WARNING- If you show expression at all, The Invisible Seeker will STEAL YOUR FACE." "I haven't got much to lose, then." Rose rubbed her bandages, laughing a bit. "Invisible Seeker, here I come. Lumos!" She sped deeper into the forest, making lots of noise. "Invisible Seeker?! Where are you?! I am making lots of noise and drawing attention to myself, so you should come to me! Blah, blah blah! I am being very loud and obnoxious!" Rose slowed to a stop. "Okay, now this is just ridiculous. I might as well go home at this point-" She heard a twig snap. Being cautious, she turned around, holding her lit wand into the darkness. She made a deadpan face, making sure to look expressionless and emotionless. "Oh, you're not going anywhere anytime soon." It was her mother's voice. //No. It's tricking me.// "Give it up, Invisible Seeker. I know it's you." Rose said loudly, making sure to keep a straight face. "Hrmhrmhrm... No fooling you, I see." It had turned into an otherworldly voice. Rose swallowed. "Show yourself." "With pleasure." Out of thin air, a being of raw flesh appeared. It laughed. "Boo!" It was absolutely horrifying and disgusting. //No emotion. No emotion.// "I don't have time to play games." Rose looked up at it. "I come seeking the knowledge of your weaknesses." "BWAHAHAHA!" Rose jumped in shock, but still kept her face expressionless. "That's the dumbest question I've ever heard. Why would I ever tell you?!" "Because I am a witch. And I will kill you if you don't." "Obviously, you're a witch." The being laughed. "But you don't stand a chance. You're just a scared little kid." "Give them to me." "Make me." "You underestimate my strength." Rose said, trying not to furrow her eyebrows. "You're clearly a waste of my time." The Invisible Seeker said, turning it's back to her. "Go home, little girl." "Crucio!" The being screamed in shock. It breathed loudly as Rose lowered her wand. "Am I still that 'scared little girl' you were talking about?" Rose was about to smirk, but stopped quickly, her heart beginning to race. "Do you have... any idea... what you just DID?!" It grew larger, huffing in anger. Rose swallowed again. //I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have done that Ishouldn'thavedonethatIshouldn'thavedonethat I should NOT have done that.// She dove out of the way as a fleshy hand swiped at her. "Time to run." she whispered to herself, making sure not to show fear. She darted out of the way, zig-zagging left and right to try to lose the Invisible Seeker. Of course, it didn't work. Typical. "Stupefy!" Rose screamed, sending a spell hurling towards it. However, it just deflected off. Typical. A large hand grabbed her, pulling her from the ground as her wand dropped to the dirt in two pieces. She gasped for air, trying not to show any emotion at all. But when your face is about to be stolen, that's a little hard. Her eyebrows curled as it pulled her up to it's face. "Hrmhrmhrm..." It giggled. "You tried your best not to show any emotion, but everybody cracks after a while..." Could she make it out of this? Probability: 0.0001% chance. Was she about to have her face ripped off by a gigantic being of flesh? Probability: Most definitely. Lovely. Goodbye, cruel world. But suddenly, the creature screamed and just... dropped her onto the cold ground. Rose caught hold of breathing again, and grabbed what was left of her wand and her 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' book, then made a run for it. But why would it do that? She only stopped when she was back inside her house. While bandaging her wounds, she heard a knock. It was Aunt Narcissa, poking her head through the wood door. "Oh, good. You're up. Your mother and I need help with something in the kitchen. Please come soon, alright?" "I'll be right there." said Rose, smiling at the fact that they had no idea what just happened. Then she walked out the door as if the situation had never occurred.
