I set my alarm as I climbed into bed. Yet, even through the exhausting day, I couldn't sleep. I twisted and turned and rolled. The hours dragged on. Staring at the ceiling, I waited and waited until ... BRING! My alarm rang, echoing loudly. Sitting up, I winced. The noise was loud enough to wake sleeping beauty. The rest of my dorm didn't budge. I let out a sigh of relief. I quickly headed towards the Gryffindor common room, looking out for Peeves and Filch. Eventually, I reached the Fat Lady. "Psst, let me in," I muttered out of the corner of my mouth. The Fat Lady opened one eye after the other. They narrowed in suspicion. She started to scream. Rose was right about her mood. I quieted her down with the use of sweet words. "Who are you? You are not a Gryffindor," she declared after inspecting me closely. "A friend of a fellow Gryffindor," I replied mildly. "We were thinking if we could do homework together?" I added. The Fat Lady nodded. "Very well. Password," she said. "Pig Snout," I whispered, smiling inwardly. Her portrait swung open to reveal Gryffindor's common room. There were three armchairs. //Probably where Ron, Hermione and Harry used to sit// I assumed. Two were already occupied by ... Rose and Celia. I walked briskly over. Rose's eyes were swollen and red. I decided to ignore this crucial fact. For now. "Celia. Haven't seen you in lessons or at the Great Hall. So glad you're ok," I told her. "Actually, been skipping them. Can I borrow your notes later?" I stared at her, admonishingly before giving one slight nod. "Fine but only because you're my friend. No more skipping lessons for investigation, ok?" I hissed into her ear, careful not to let Rose overhear. Slowly, I took a seat between Celia and Rose. Rose silently fidgeted with her pajamas. I prompted her with a wave of my hand. She opened her mouth and began her tale ...
