Once Moonshine was sure the around the toilet door had dispersed, she quickly went in to change her robes, then half-walked-half-ran down the aisle, desperately hoping she wouldn't run into Flick again. She slipped back into their compartment. Maggie was sitting where she left her, except she had changed into robes whilst Moonshine had gone. Moonshine's robes weren't new, they had been her brother's, but they were no where near the state Maggie's were in. "Do they look bad?" Maggie asked, and Moonshine looked away, embarrassed at being caught staring. "No," she lied. "They used to be Aaron's, then they were Anna's," she scratched the back of her neck. "Then they were briefly Sam's. I can't believe Felix got new ones but I didn't." Maggie tucked a stray blonde curl behind her ear. Suddenly, Moonshine couldn't handle it any more. She burst out, "Is Flick Cabanero your brother?" she swallowed quickly, and thought of something to say to cover her statement up, but Maggie's face had already fell. "You ran into him?" Moonshine nodded. "He's a j3rk. I don't like being associated with him. He hits on girls and thinks it's okay when he breaks their hearts. I don't call him Flick. The nickname only adds to his humungous ego." She cast her blue eyes out of the window, to the hills, and the setting sun. "Please don't think of me badly just because of him. I promise you I'm nothing like him." Moonshine smiled. "It's fine, don't worry," Maggie gave her a relieved smile. "Thanks, most girls either run straight away from me when I tell them about Felix, or instantaneously wants to be my best friend just because they want to get with him." "Don't worry, I don't want anything to do with him," Moonshine peered out of the window, and saw a large dark shape looming from behind a hill. It was a castle. "Look! It's Hogwarts!" The train stopped, and Moonshine and Maggie jumped off the train. Apparently they needn't worry about their luggage, it would be delivered to their dorms once they had been sorted. Her older brother had been a Ravenclaw. Maybe Moonshine would be the same. She imagined him being sorted. What was his face like? Nervous? Scared? Or maybe he had been excited? Happy, even, at the prospect of getting to place the hat on his head. He would have been a sixth year this year, and he would have got to see Moonshine's face as the hat was placed on her head. All these thoughts raced through Moonshine's head as she rowed a small boat she had been directed onto by a huge man named Rubeus Hagrid. Maggie sat opposite her, also rowing, but kept sneaking backwards glances at the castle they called a school. Across the lake from her, she saw a boy fall out of his boat. She hoped it was Flick. In no time at all, they had reached Hogwarts, and they were led through the corridors by a teacher who informed them that her name was Professor McGonagall. She cleared her throat, and everyone fell silent. "Right, when we go into the hall, you will be sorted into your houses," Professor McGonagall said. "Gryffindor, for the courageous, Hufflepuff, for the loyal, Ravenclaw, for the wise, and Slytherin, for the ambitious," a large uproar came from a group of boys, a cheering and clapping. Moonshine spotted Flick amongst them. He caught her eye and winked at her. She grimaced and looked away, back to the professor. "Thank you boys," she raised a perfect brow. "I will call your name, and you will sit on the stool, and I will place the sorting hat on your head. And it will tell you your house." They all followed her into the hall. "This is the great hall," she told them. "This is where you will gather for all your meals. You will sit at your respective house tables once you are sorted." The first years gathered around the front of the hall. Moonshine's palms had began to feel sweaty. Once the sorting hat had sang a song, Professor McGonagall called out the first name, "Antwork, Cory," the group of boys cheered again, and a boy shuffled up to the stool. Moonshine recognised him as the boy who ran out of the toilets, his cheeks green. Professor McGonagall placed the hat on his head, and it yelled, "Hufflepuff!" the boys booed, and Cory sidled to the Hufflepuff table, his eyes on his feet. "Box, Ashleigh," a girl with blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail sat on the stool. "Gryffindor!" the sorting hat screeched. Ashleigh strode to the Gryffindor table, amidst hearty cheers from the other Gryffindors. "Cabanero, Felix," the group of boys roared in appreciation, and Flick practically sashayed up to the stool. The sorting hat went on his head. "Slytherin!" it cried. Flick smirked, and the boys cheered, and he assumed a seat on the Slytherin table. "Cabanero, Margaret," Maggie sat on the stool, looking extremely nervous as the sorting hat went on her head. "Ravenclaw!" she breathed out a sigh, and went over to the Ravenclaw table. The next boy was a, "Clocks, Sammy," and he was put in Hufflepuff. He sat by Cory, who looked extremely...
+ disgruntled. (sorry it'll be over soon lol) The names flew by, and soon Moonshine heard a, "Griffith, Moonshine!" she sat on the stool, sweat running down her forehead. She felt the hat on her head. She took a deep breath. Side note: this is set two years before Harry Potter joined Hogwarts. So Moonshine is two years older than the golden trio XD.
