Hey! This is my second entry for Ash/Aspen This one is a short story so enjoy! (I love this bean so much jhgjhghjhjgyffyyuiuyuyyiuygdrsrdtyg) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Warm sunlight cascaded through the the forest creating golden pools on the forest floor. In the distance birdsong could be heard. The forest smelt of earthy undertones, blended to make a harmony of aromas. Aspen trudged, dragging his weary paws through the dry leaflitter. It had been a week since he was exiled for m!rder, whilst protecting someone who was extremely important to him. The soft rustle of leaves under his paws was a constant reminder that it was long to go to the nearest town. Suddenly, a stick snapped. He was being followed. "Who's there?!" He snapped, his fur bristling. In his eyes there was a dangerous glint. He was ready to attack at the first sign of motion. But, nothing could have prepared him for what would happen next. Out of the bushes stepped another wolf. The wolf was tangerine with charcoal and turquoise markings. Aspen stopped, dead still. A floodwave of shock went through him. "I-Iradi?" He stuttered, his mouth agape. Iradi stood still, their teal eyes glistening with guilt and their fur. slightly on end. "Aspen.." began Iradi, "I know the night of the incident I couldn't stand up for you. I feel really bad and I miss you. You don't have to forgive me, but.. could you at least just hear my apology?" they pleaded. "Iradi! You're okay!" Aspen, leaped towards Iradi, his heart leaped. He tackled them over, tears of happiness dampening his fur. His body felt light and energised. He couldn't stop crying tears of joy. Iradi looked startled for a moment, but then their face filled with delight. "You forgive me?" Iradi sighed, tears of joy welling in their eyes. "Of course I do. I'm so glad you're alright. You were bleeding so much I thought you were going to die" Aspen sobbed from happiness and relief. The both of them sat up, their tails intertwining. Iradi put her muzzle on his head and he leaned into their soft fur. The scent of Iradi was familiar to Aspen. Warm smells of cinnamon and smoke filled his nose as the two of them sat in a comfortable silence. A warm feeling of comfort bubbled up inside of Aspen, making him feel happy for the first time in quite a while. He knew the two of them were now safe, and that was all he ever needed to know.
