NHD, aka National History Day, is a 6 month long process which ends in a competition. The board itself took 2 weeks to make, though much more went into it before. There are 3 papers each around 5 pages in length regarding a theme of your choice. Oh boy is NHD the bane of my life, but its finally done. I still have to present to judges, and to the other grades + my own, but the work part should be done
For more context, we are only allowed 500 student composed words, which makes the exhibit option difficult. that project was literally the bane of my existence it was 6 months. we had to write a background essay [ 5 pages ] , then our actual paper [ 10 pages ] , then a process paper, plus our annotated bibliography. and thats not even the biggest part, since THEN we had to choose a project type [ i chose exhibit, ] make it in 2 weeks, present it to other people in our grade, find an interview, present it to judges, and if you make it to counties, or states or nationals, you have to do that last part
