3, 2, 1, Hearts! Hello it's me Sherlynn or my s-pop name Jassy! So.. today we'll be talking about the minors (under 12 years!) going to Sephora and buying Glow Recipe, Drunk Elephant, etc. Also this is my second pro. that isn't s-pop related or k-pop cuz this trend has went way to far. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The things I will be talking about today are: 1. Why this trend is happening right now 2. My opinions on this 3. Showing my reasons that minors shouldn't buy skincare (I'm a minor too) 4. How parents can stop this --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think this trend started when the aesthetic called, "preppy" gained its spot in 2023. Since then many 10 year olds have been using many of these products for nothing and have been using them to be "preppy" or popular. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are my opinions: 1. They have clear skin but are using products to stop their acne when they don't. So they need to stop using these products that could harm them. 2. Many of these minors are below 12 years which is very very concerning for the parents letting their own children buy products that are super unsafe for their skin. 3. MINORS USING ANTI-AGING CREAM just freaking screams that there def. gonna age and have lots of skin problems which are gonna be so so bad for them! 4. Lastly, you should at least start using them at 14+ years of age but 10 YEAR OLDS using skincare earlier than 14+ teenagers, that isn't acceptable with the tweens using skincare earlier than freaking teenagers! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are my reasons for this: Although they are 10 years old they still shouldn't be using Drunk Elephant as it can lead to dryness and irritation because of that type of chemical they're using. Also because they already have clear skin in the picture I'm showing you! As a 10 year old with acne I don't do any of this stuff! Lastly, because just because being "Preppy" doesn't mean using freaking skincare at 10 or 9 years! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are some suggestions for parents to prevent this from happening: 1. Make an age when they can start doing skincare (13 would be best!) 2. Use safer skincare products 3. Tell your child they can only buy makeup from whatever Sephora store your going to 4. Prevent them from using Drunk Elephant and Glow Recipe just because they want to be preppy --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits: for the inspiration, The Cults (band I think), Glow Recipe, Drunk Elephant, and lastly the girls on the front.
