Prey numbers started to decrease. The ground began to become frozen. Leaf-bare had begun. Long ago, a cat was found. The cat's name was Fallensky, and TundraClan thought she was a blessing from Starclan. Soon enough, the clan found out the truth. She was no blessing, just another mouth to feed. But, Fallensky kept on going. She did not feel as though she belongs, but she did not leave. TundraClan's camp is a large mine in a pine forest. The winds blow cold here, as there is no cover due to the thin pine trees. The ground is marsh, and pine needles are littered around. For a long time, TundraClan lived here. As snow was scattered across the ground, and cold winds blow around, the cats living here have to adapt to the cold. During leaf-bare, snowstorms are very abundant, just like the one that carried Blizzardkit away. Blizzardkit was a young kit. He was too young to defend himself. "Well, someone has to find him," Moonfur said, trying to act calm. Yelloweye, Blizzardkit's mother, walked up, "someone HAS to get my kit back! He's all alone out there!" These words made Fallensky think. Perhaps, if I bring the kit back, I'll finally be important! "I will get the kit," Fallensky announced. As the others stared in worry, she started to leave the camp. Frosty winds blew strongly all over, and snow froze her pads. Pine needles poked Fallensky all over. After a while, Fallensky lost hope of finding Blizzardkit. But when she turned back to head home, she noticed the forest looked the same, whirling snow was obscuring her sight. She was lost. "Blizzardkit," Fallensky yelled to the open air. As she repeated the words, she saw a tiny, gray pelt among the snow. Blizzardkit was under a log in the snow. As Fallensky picked him up, she looked around. Her heart plummeted as the realization hit her. She was lost. Running frantically all over, Fallensky thought of what might happen to her and the little kit in her jaws. Eventually, she saw a dip in the ground. "Whuf iz zat?" Fallensky asked, her voice muffled by the furry pelt in her jaws. As she neared the edge, she discovered TundraClan camp! As she ran into the hollow, her clanmates greeted her with pride! "You found my kit," Yelloweye exclaimed, happily. Questions arose from nearly ever cat like, "How did you find him?" or, "How did you get back?" or, "the winds are so strong and cold, I'm surprised he's alive!" For many years after, Fallensky was known as a hero of the clan. For many years after, stories of her heroics were passed down. Fallensky no longer felt left out and she was happier than ever!
