★ α ωιѕє мαи σи¢є ѕαι∂. a historical fiction short story ─── ・ 。゚─── "until the day of his death, no man can be sure of his courage." - Jean Anouilh ─── ・ 。゚─── CW - themes of war and death, (very few) mentions of g*ns and blood. > reader discretion advised - though this should be fine for 10/11+ >> note: the story is not finished until you see "THE END" - there are breaks in between each part. ─── ・ 。゚─── i just want to take a moment to say... i've never felt more like myself when writing a story. these past few months have been a rollercoaster, and i just didn't seem to be happy with anything i wrote. it was never good enough, it never lived up to these impossible standards i was straining to reach. it always had to be *perfect* and, as expected, it never was. i stopped enjoying the process, and eventually, i felt like a failure for struggling with something i'd thought i was born to do. but after taking a break and putting things into perspective, i remembered why i write in the first place. most of all, it's for myself - it's a reminder that i'm not alone. that, even when everyone leaves and everything is gone, i still have a pen and paper. i can still write while the world is crumbling around me. i finally understood that, no, i don't need to write something groundbreaking or earth-shattering for it to be worthy of being written. i don't need people to be in awe of my words. i don't need to write anything special. i just have to enjoy it. so - i don't mind if you don't enjoy this, i'm just glad that, after so long, i loved the process. after so long, i fell in love with writing again. (even still, i hope you enjoy the story hehe ^^) if you ever feel like this, know that it's part of the journey, and you'll get your happy ending soon. <3 ─── ・ 。゚ ─── ✎ sтσяү: all me - 2,479 words ▢ вαcкgяσυη∂s: Canva ♬ мυѕι¢: 'As Long As You Don't Forget Me' by Dan Thiessen ◎ тɪмε: almost exactly a month - beginning December 25th ^^ ─── ・ 。゚─── #awiseman #hifi #brothers
