After completing my essay about werewolves for Snape's little idea of fun, I caught up with Celia. In the corridors, I met Eleanor. I stopped. "Thanks so much for your help in our investigation," I told her. She looked upset. "I'm sorry but I can't help anymore. I need to improve my grades. Dad's probably impressed in Azkaban but Mum sent me a howler today," she replied bitterly and left with a grimace. Celia waved me over, one eyebrow arched. "Seriously? You look like you were just doing homework. Wait, did you?" was her way of greeting me. I reluctantly admitted that I was doing Snape's homework. She groaned. "While you were out there doing homework, I was actually making those badges, Dabria," she said grimly. One more moment of silence and Celia changed the subject abruptly. "Well, we'd better hurry. I think I saw Albus and Scorpius walk past," she mumbled awkwardly. I agreed immediately. She sprinted away, towards the girls' bathroom. My eyes scanned the room. No sign of them. Yet. I leaned against the wall, exhausted and sweating. Maybe dozed off for a minute or two. I was awoken by voices. "Shh! That's Dabria. She sticks her nose into other people's business," whispered one voice. It was all giggles after that. My eyes opened wide and saw none other than Albus and Scorpius. I quickly followed behind and hissed into my badge, "They're heading towards you," I warned Celia. She didn't reply. After a couple of seconds, "They're standing right outside the entrance of the bathroom. Busted," I muttered, trying to act in an unsuspicious way. Still no answer. Now, I was getting worried. Rushing to the bathroom, I found Celia cornering the boys. I was astounded, watching all take on those second-years. Albus looked ashamed as he stared at his shuffling feet. On the other hand, Scorpius scowled in annoyance. "Just let us do our ... thing," he retorted. Albus gave him a look. He quieted but Celia did not. "Oh really? Your thing? More like travelling in time is it?" Celia pretended to be amused. Her words dripped with sarcasm. Scorpius paled ever so slightly. I took this opportunity to emerge from the shadows, hands on hips, trying to look fierce. "Yeah. Maybe I could tell the Minister Of Magic which is actually someone I know well. Hermione. Unless, you tell us what's been going on," I added, glaring. Both Scorpius and Albus face-palmed. They looked at each other, thinking and finally nodded. "Well, we have been travelling in time," Albus sighed. "But not as you think. You see, we are trying to save Cedric Diggory, a candidate in the last Triwizard Tournament. He was killed but it was not planned this way. He was just with Harry - I mean, my father. Amos is most upset. We were trying to help, ok? Especially when Amos needs it. He's been asking my dad for ages but my dad always refused because time-turners aren't allowed," Albus continued hurriedly. Celia looked mildly surprised. We thought the best of them and decided to believe and trust. Without checking with Celia, I blurted out, "Can we help you guys? Or at least join this little gang? We could use some excitement." They nodded. Celia smiled slightly and flashed a thumbs-up. Pride flowed through me. Albus took out the time-turner and started turning with it. He indicated us to touch that trinket. We copied Scorpius. Together, we started to whirl back in time to save someone's life. What we didn't know was that you shouldn't ever meddle with time and fate...
