WIP BACKSTORY . Mercy and Millie were sisters since they knew of their own existence, and even their names matched. Mercy was always the one who wandered off for hours before returning home with a nice catch for her older sister, who would gratefully take it and in return help build a shelter for her as they often wandered far from their homes together. But one day, Mercy found an abandoned rabbit den and found that there were broken-up bones and decomposed bits of prey stashed deep inside -- uneaten prey, looking much like what Mercy had brought Millie every time. Mercy was worried, wondering if Millie was hiding a problem from her in order to be a mature figure, and looked back to their shelter, wanting to ask what was going on. But Millie was missing, and this put her in great distress. Millie was NEVER one to go wandering away because she always tended to the shelter and fires, Mercy was dubbed as the "wanderer". - The sun was on the verge of setting and Millie still had not returned. Mercy watched the horizon apprehensively, pacing around in circles, and as the dying sun cast bright flames of orange and violet into the air she decided to search for Millie. She had been familiar with the territories around them after all the days she spent strolling in the woods, and she was confident she could return safely if she didn't find Millie. She set off and went towards the woods, where she herself often visited, thinking that Millie may be there because it was beyond the den with all the prey she had thrown away. She stopped in a clearing in the woods, a waterfall trickling in the distance. For a brief moment she felt at peace, and she thought that Millie would love a place like this. Despite her heart pounding she settled in the clearing and took in some deep breaths.
