⚯ (Co)leader Responsibilities ⚯ SRC April '24 જ⁀➴ Welcome to the (co)leader responsibilities project for scratch reading camp! Whether you're hoping to apply for this session, or planning on camper-ing, you are very welcome to read this :) Though, if you are applying for (co)leader, we highly recommend reading this w̲h̲o̲l̲e̲ project, as it is needed for your application! (Co)leader Responsibilities: ❶. Making sure there's an even workload between you and your (co)leader. No one should feel super stressed, burdened, or as if they have the easiest tasks and your (co)leader has the hard ones! Disperse the jobs out evenly please <3 ❷. Helping out in general with other houses, or at least offering help! we greatly value a helpful (co)leader. ❸. Overseeing and supervising your house! Make sure your housemates are getting along well, and there are no quarrels between them. If someone makes a mistake, don't make them feel bad! It happens to the best of us, so help them and be kind while you get them on the right track :) ❹. Updating page counts in a timely manner! It's okay if you do so every few days, life before src, just don't fall weeks behind, haha. ❺. Answering questions if you are confident in your answer. If you do not feel positive in your answer, refer the question to a host! ❻. Telling the hosts in a discrete place if anyone is skipping over rules or to put it as it is, cheating, even if it means your own house losing points. We play fair and absolutely do /not/ support cheating! :D ❼. By definition, a leader is there to guide others, and inspire them, so this is one of the most important responsibilities; be kind to others. Though there is much competition between houses, keep things kind and keep it a safe space when talking to other participants in houses other than your own! Friendly competition is okay, but please don't get really competitive and rub it in another's face or make anyone feel bad. Help others, and guide them :D ❽. Have an open mind! Remember to listen to others, and respect your (co)leader's space. In the past sessions, we have seen a co-leader or two who has overstepped, and it makes it really uncomfy for their leader. (if you still reading this and hoping to apply, go ask @essayist for a cookie on her profile! this is to make sure you've read everything, so be sure to do so.) In house planning and development, it doesn't always have to be a hundred percent your way, and it doesn't have to be a hundred percent your (co)leader's way! We do not recommend taking over jobs of your (co)leader unless they tell you to, but if it's getting really close to a deadline and they are not active or not responding you should ask a host what you should do. ❾. Be responsible! We trust that you will let us know if you're going inactive for a period of time longer than 60 hours, and that you will take your role as co-leader or leader seriously! :) ❿. Have fun. The guidelines above are very much encouraged, but we are a bit loose with them! So, if you make a mistake or read it wrong, we are very forgiving and we always believe in second chances :D We want you to have fun, as well as everyone else participating! 11. If you do not feel comfortable doing something, you as a (co)leader have to right to speak up and ask a host about it. It you simply do not think something is right, ask away! We are very open and we encourage asking questions and bringing up possible changes :) If i missed anything or you think something should be added, please do tell on my profile <3 Otherwise, that's the wrap! Thank you for reading. If you've read everything above, go ask for some chocolate ;) - Nat and the SRC hosting team
