Model : RapidInstall. Year : 2024. Type : Ziehl Zetalift overhead MRL gearless traction. VF drive : Zetadyn ? Doors : Fermator. Speed : 1 m/s. Logic: BH LC 001. Buttons : Dewhurst. Positioning system : Absolute shaft encoder. Panels/Indicators : Berry And Harrington. Location : 25 Anchor Street Portsmouth UK. Notes : This replaces a 2001 Electra Vitoria hydraulic lift. These flats were originally built in 2001 but they’ve just been refurbished and 2 new floors were added on top of the building. This MRL Berry And Harrington has semi intelligent levelling and pre-doors which is good (It could be full intelligent since it has a full shaft encoder though). This is a rather interesting lift. It looks a bit generic but it’s fairly nice. The call station looks interesting and plays an EV 3 stage chime when the lift arrives. And when you select a floor it plays a chime which is a copycat of the French futuristic ThyssenKrupp down chime ! BAA-BAAAAAAAAAAAAA ! BTW this brand used to be know as Harrington and they made loads of very different and very custom built lifts, then, they installed basic & cheap lifts with Sodimas equipment. They they got taken over by Garbage Lift Services and GLS renamed themselves into Harrington Elevators and they made 4 awful models of lifts : HomeVator : Cheap roped hydro lift but with platform lift pump unit, semi Kirk time logic and weird cheap and nasty mix of GAL MOVFE and Wittur Hydra + doors. + awful early 2000s IMEM Ascensores voice + chimes. MultiflexVator : Awful super cheap nasty MRL w/ same ultra bad and flimsy door & logic as HomeVator and very explosive and dangerous VF drive w/ too much Kirkium Dioxide. + sometimes awful Lester Controls voice. They have the worst built quality EVER. CargoVator : Horridly cheap and nasty hydraulic goods lift w/ same thing as HomeVator + horrid Lester Controls voice. Also, horrid ULCEP hydraulic system. The built quality of these is 2nd worst after the MultiflexVator. ModlogicVator : Weird, very cheap & nasty mod kit with Gruppomillepiani style logic thingy and various generic stuff. Then the company got shareholded by multiple brands and they used stuff from Morin & Roy Ascenseurs aka a horrid semi generic French lift company and they made DMG lifts with awful Kone KCE ripoff logic w/ the worst proprietary restrictions ever, meanwhile they were run by various brands. They were known as SHHMRLA. In late 2023, a US branch got established : Berry & Spencer Elevators, then IMEM Ascensores and Lester Controls became the 2 shareholders of SHHMRLA and Berry & Spencer. They merged the 2 companies and renamed BSM (Berry Spencer Morin). Then TKE acquired them in late January 2024, renamed them Berry And Harrington and they now make these MRL lifts in Europe. In the US, they rebrand and install TKE Elevators. And that’s it for the short history of Harrington. Although these new MRL lifts (RapidInstall) are quite cheaply made which is not very good but still fairly nice. They have Fermator door equipment which quite cheap but OK. These lifts are actually fairly OK overall. These have a TTS voice which is quite strange. The inside indicator and landing stations are quite fancy IMO. Sometimes the controller is quite a bit glitchy though, especially if you spam the buttons. Anyway, that’s the end of the description. I also like the inside lantern which looks very nice and very modern. Also, they have launched the ModDraulic package which is which is specifically designed for modding hydraulic lifts. It features a controller called BH LC RenewHydro, a soft-starter, a GMV pump, Fermator doors, Drucegrove voice, new displays, new panels and DMG or Dewhurst buttons. This package is used by generic lift companies and Berry and Harrington themselves and they also use generic equipment (e.g Lester Controls, Thames Valley Controls (TVC), Sprinte, IMEM Ascensores, International Lift Equipment (ILE), Hydroware, etc…) sometimes. The ModDraulic package is only available in Europe aswell…
