Gyatt, who was killed in action in the Spanish–American War. Gyatt was commissioned in February 1943 and served in the Pacific Ocean. She participated in several operations, including the Gilbert and Marshall Islands campaign, the Battle of the Philippine Sea, and the Battle of Okinawa. The ship earned six battle stars for her service in World War II. Gyatt was decommissioned in 1946 and sold for scrap in 1960.
