Redstar sighed. He looked up at the silverpelt in the sky. "Oh Darkstar, I hope StarClan approves of my choices. Sometimes I feel like the forest is against me. Please tell me, it isn't, is it?" he said to himself. The breeze blew past his fur. The ThunderClan camp clearing was empty. Every cat was asleep, all except one. A small tabby she-cat brushed out of the nursery. "Redstar, what are you doing?" she asked. "Mother- Squirreltail, I mean. I'm so happy to see you. But aren't you dead?" Redstar shuddered, looking at the tabby she-cat. "Not in your heart. Redstar, three kits will be coming into the Clan soon. But one---one is exceptional. And a kittypet. A kittypet you've met before, a long, long time ago, loved as a friend. He will have a new friend soon. Very soon. But... Every cat in StarClan is worried." "About what?" "The prophecy. One dark star will fall into the atmosphere, it says, but we do not have further knowledge despite our reputation. Redstar, my dear kit, beware." "I don't get it. Squirreltail, I must know more!" The tabby she-cat had faded away. Redstar woke in the clearing. The sun was rising, and the she-cat's voice still echoed in his head. The apprentices were joking around. "Did you see Redstar? He's acting like it's the end of ThunderClan!" an apprentice identical to Squirreltail, the she-cat in Redstar's dream, said. Redstar's ears pinned. "Hey, it's not very nice to joke about your leader. Go on, change the elders' bedding or something," a voice said as Ardorsky confronted the young cats. They quivered. "Yes, Ardorsky. We got it," they said as they walked away. "Thank you, Ardorsky. I'm sorry if I couldn't have confronted them myself. You see, I just woke up and-" "And had a dream about Squirreltail? I get you miss your mother. She was a nice cat. Now come on, Redstar. You look more like a needy elder rather than a leader," Ardorsky chuckled as he helped Redstar up. Redstar scoffed jokingly, as he walked toward the fresh-kill pile. "Could you assign some patrols?" he asked as he gulped down a vole. "Yes, Redstar. You look like you've had a long night," Ardorsky dipped his head as he walked away to assign patrols.
Hello and welcome to the first story I posted on Scratch! The series of this fanmade Warriors book is called Dark Stars and this book is the first in Dark Stars. This current book is called Dark Past. Though it is the first book, it is only about what happened before Blizzardpaw's journey. This is a beautiful view of silverpelt, what the Clan cats call the night sky. Credits to Google for the picture. Previous: Next:
