◦°☆ Chapter sixteen: flaming eyes☆°◦ The bird stretched his claws. Ava screamed as the raven flew down close enough to scratch her cheek. Blood dripped down it but Ava didn’t notice. The raven was attacking again. He jerked her and pulled out a bunch of red hair. “Agh! STOP IT!” shouted Ava. If someone would be watching Ava, the person wouldn't know if Ava was crying or was that just rain pouring down her face. The raven striked again. Ava looked around for the last time before turning and (hopefully) facing the castle. As she reached the top of a little hill she slipped! “NO!” She was falling lower and lower. With her right hand she tried caching a root that was sticking out the ground but she couldn't. Her right hand was too weak… “BUM!” she stopped suddenly on a big rock. Standing up she felt the blood dripping from her scratch knees. She could also feel it in her mouth. The sweet but disgusting taste filled her mouth. She tried to spit it out, but she couldn't. She gazed at the sky, surprised that the raven didn’t attack her immediately after her fall. She didn't see it but she could feel the cold and furious gaze of its laming red eyes. The sky poured buckets of rain over her making her shiver. Her legs felt heavy but she didn’t quit. Slipping and stumbling. She started running. Suddenly Ava saw lights. For a moment she thought that they were the eyes of the black raven but no - they were the welcoming lights of Hogwarts castle. She tried running faster but she couldn't. Suddenly Ava spotted the raven. His claws glinted like knives ready to lacerate her. He dived, his sharp beak first. He james it into her left hand. “AGH! NO!” Ava screamed. She tried wiggling her hand but the bird didn’t drop, so she pulled him out with her other hand. Streaks of blood soaked Ava’s uniform. With the last of her strength she ran over to the big castle door that appeared in the distance. She tried opening it but it didn’t even budge. “NO!” screamed Ava banging her bloody hands on the door. She looked around. “The furious bird will attack any moment!” she thought panickly running beside the castle wall. “There!” A few meters from the door was a slightly opened window. She quickly ran over to it and at the last moment jumped into the room on the other side of the wall. After landing with a loud BUMP! She shout the window. In the darkness she saw the red dots of fire right there where the eyes were supposed to be. Then she fainted...
