Backstory: I had never broken the rules of Star Mountain. The Tribe that lives there is very strict about them. I did as I was told and tried my best to please everyone. I had no siblings or friends. I was lonely but I pretended to be content. My life was very crowded in the day so I would sneak out at night. I memorized the constellations that way. I loved getting lost in the millions of lights. The thing is, on Star Mountain the moon is always full and bright. They say it's a blessing from the Goddess of the moon and stars. One of the nights that I snuck out I saw someone. A Black tom was staring up at the sky like I usually did. I didn't recognize him and believe me, I know everyone in the village. I crept up behind him and sat down. I tried to be silent, but apparently, I didn't do a good job of it. In a flash, I found myself pinned down by his paws. I yelped in surprise. He stared at me for a long time. I didn't move, not because I was afraid, mind you, I knew I could wriggle out of his grasp if I wanted to. I'm not quite sure why I didn't scream for help. I just know I was entranced. Finally, he broke the silence. "Who are you?" he asked in a mystified voice. "I could ask you the same." I responded. "Can you get off me?" "Oh, sorry." The strange got off of me, and let me get up. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I could ask you the same." He said cheekily. I sighed in defeat. "I sneak out every night to get away from my troubles. I like to look at the stars." The tom smiled. "Same here. Could I get ur name?" "If you'll tell me yours." I smiled back. I don't know why I was engaging with him. "Done deal. I'm Eclipse. Now your turn." "My name is...Moon." Now I should tell you why I didn't tell him my real name, Star-light. The village found me as a newborn in their "sacred" moonflower garden. Apparently, the Goddess of the moon and stars was supposed to give the village another gift on the same day they found me. They declared me a gift from the Goddess and treated me like a princess. I hated it. They acted like if they made me mad, then the whole mountain would collapse. No one would be my friend. My adoptive parents kept me away from the rest of the village. I didn't think I was a gift from the Goddess at all. I thought all of that was fake. I wanted someone to know me as anything other than "A gift from the great goddess," so I told Eclipse my name was Moon. "Why haven't I seen u before?" I asked Eclipse. It had dawned on me that he could be a spy or someone up to no good. He looked at me for a while. His silence disturbed me. "I have to go." was all he said. he started to walk away. "WAiT! Will I ever see you again?" He turned and looked at me somberly. "Hopefully." He then disappeared into the woods. I was left there alone wondering what in the world just happened. (to be continued) Okay, so since I won't have time to finish, this is what happens: They run into each other several more times. ppl in the village suspect something is off with Star-light, and they follow her. They find her meeting up with Eclipse, and they confront them both. Eclipse hears Black-hole (the guy who led the patrol to follow her) call her Star-light. Eclipse freaks out that she's actually Star-light and runs off, leaving her to explain herself what she was doing there. Little does Star-light know Eclipse was from a league of cats who basically think the Goddess isn't real. The group that Eclipse is in basically found out that Star-light's village's elders are using the Goddess as an excuse to control ppl, etc. Eclipse was supposed to ass Star-light so the village would realize she isn't all powerful. ANYway, Starlight gets into big trouble (she wouldn't tell them exactly what she was doing but they figured it out.) The village pretty much locks her up. The elder comes to "visit" her and curses her so moonflowers cover her eyes. She can't see anymore and is pretty much helpless bc she's afraid of the dark. Eventually she escapes and searches for Eclipse. She finds his camp and overhears his original intentions. She is horrified and runs away. *me realizing I haven't figured out what happens next, so have fun with the cliff-hanger*
