Here’s are some tips and tricks to making a comic! —————————— 1. One panel page layout Now I know I didn’t explain that well but instead of doing a manga type, 5 panels in one page layout, do one panel per page. It makes it easier for the readers. I really struggle reading multiple panel pages in comics. 2. Plot everything out first Ik this is always said but PLEASE. You’ll only make it harder for yourself if you don’t. 3. Art style Make sure to have a quality art style which is easy and fast. It makes it more appealing. 4.Cliches DON’T use too many cliches! So far the only cliche I’m using is ‘Nice med cat and grumpy med cat’ but that’s because I think they would have a good dynamic. 5. Love at first sight PLEASE DON’T DO THIS. This is an EXTREMELY overused cliche. Just read this: ‘ person A sees person B. Person A thinks Person B is pretty and has a crush on them.’ Sounds familiar? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE its so irritating. If you want to put ships in your comic then do something similar to this: ‘person A and person B have to go on a journey together. The longer they are on the journey together the more they realise they have feelings for each other.’ MAKE THEM LIKE EACH OTHER OUT OF PERSONALITY NOT LUST. 6. Story Don’t overuse the cliche of ‘ a prophecy comes, 4-6 chosen ones have to go an adventure to purge the evil’. This is almost always the basic plot line in a lot of warrior cats fanfics/comics. 7. Fandoms It makes it easier to NOT make a story based on a fandom. I just chose to do a warrior cats one bc I like warrior cats and it gives me the first few building blocks to creating a story. But it is trickier trying to remain the world’s rules. I bent the Warrior Code a bit to more like this for plot reasons: ‘ cats from other clans can be mates but medicine cats can’t have a mate.’ 8. Characters All of the characters need a good personality. You need to make the main characters lovable and if you want, the antagonist the most irritating living being ever. One of the med cats in my comic, Owlthroat, has a personality along these lines: ‘ normally portrayed as grumpy old cat and hates kids, but when around Pearlshine (her ex-apprentice) she’s kind and warm-hearted.’ 9: IT ISN’T A CHORE PEOPE if you find urself unmotivated DON’T DO IT. It’s most likely you will give up on it. If you need a break, take a break. Easy. It isn’t a chore. —————————— That’s all I could think of right now. Hope this helps! baiiiiii
