1. Ok so my friend asked me to draw an OC of hers called Sunrose, so I decided I would use the opportunity to make a tutorial. So I took some photos of all the steps I take to draw a cat :) 2. First, I take a minute to imagine what the cat is doing based on what I know about their personality, so I decided that Sunrose would be sitting and gazing wistfully at nothing or something like that. I don’t usually draw this step. 3. Draw about 10,000 different varieties of circles until you get close enough. 4. Ears. 5. This makes the cat look more defined or something. 6. Add stuff. 7. More stuff. 8. It looked a bit weird so I tweaked it. 9. FLUFF. This is the fun bit :) 10. Now I just let my pen do what it wants. 11. Decide where legs go. 12. Make legs. Then be ready to spend half of your day trying to make the feet look acceptable. 13. Don’t forget the tail. I like this bit. Takes a few tries sometimes. 14. Whiskers. 15. Tweak. 16. Ok so now for colour, so I make another layer underneath and make the top one reference (this might not matter if you don’t use Procreate) 17. Primary colour. 18. Secondary colour. 19. More details. 20. It didn’t look quite right so I tweaked the colouring so it blended more. 21. I forgot the eyelashes! (these are optional of course) 22. My friend said Sunrose has blue eyes so I better make them blue. 23. Add some darker blue for shadow or something then blend it. 24. Add lighter blue and blend it. 25. The ✨shine✨ I like to make a small hollow oval for this. 26. Done! Now I like to add a big scribble in the background with colours that won’t clash with the cat, and add a shadow. 27. I changed the scribble. It is now the letter ‘S’ in Ninjagon. (This action was taken due to some suggestions given by my sister) 1. And done! Thanks for coming! I hope the music didn’t drive you too nutty!
