James ●My James personifies the 'jock' as he is often seen in teen fiction- he's got skill with his sports, popularity and attention to spare, and a way with the ladies. James plays Chaser, a post more often then not taken by females, and this is not unintentional. When he joined the team in second year, these spots were taken by fifth and sixth year girls, who regarded James as a positively adorable kid. He's always been quite charming. ●James fancies himself as the leader of the Marauders, and is perhaps right. He did not come up with the name, or decide that they ought to become animagi, or even prompt the creation of the map, so his contribution to the group must be its leadership. James does not abuse his position; quite the contrary, he uses it to keep Remus feeling safe, Peter feeling appreciated, and Sirius feeling like he belongs. ●While Lily is at the center of James's affections, he will go on occasional dates, and is a notorious flirt. It is estimated that he has called 7/8 of Hogwarts's female population 'cute'. ●The situation with Severus was not as awful as is is sometimes made to seem. While James had popularity and, therefore, power on his side, his actions toward Snape were because of jealousy over Lily and hatred of the Dark Arts. Had Severus been the popular one, James's actions would not have changed. ●James sees Sirius as the brother he never had. In fact, he considers Remus his best friend and Sirius his brother- the marked difference being that James and Remus rarely fight, and never seriously, but James and Sirius have both landed the other in the Hospital Wing, and spent the subsequent days apologizing far more than necessary. ●James sees Remus as a friend to be protected and, at the end of the day, Remus loves this. Because for all his independence, Remus wants to be protected. ●James sees Peter as evidence of his good character, but that's not it. They often pair up when Sirius and Remus are unavailable in class, and James constantly instructs him in such subjects as Gelling Out Of Detention With McGonagall and How To Pick Up Chicks. Peter looks up to him and James doesn't let him down. Sirius ●Sirius is somewhat the 'rebel', as far as the Marauders are concerned. He pierced his ears, wears a leather jacket, and even grew an obnoxious little beard. He's definitely the most attractive amongst them, and is frequently the object of some girl (or boy)'s affections. ●Sirius sees himself not as the leader of the Marauders, but as the significantly more attractive sidekick. He doesn't mind James's arrogance, because the Marauders are the only family he's ever known. ●Sirius is a bigger flirt than James, and has, ah, a wider repotoire. People of any gender have wound up the object of his affections, and they very rarely mind. ●Wolfstar is often cited in fanon as being a canonically backed-up ship. Sirius and Remus have had a more-than-platonic relationship at times, but reluctance to ruin their mutual friendship has kept attraction at bay. ●Sirius sees James as somewhat of an older brother. When Sirius first came to Hogwarts, he was a confused and unsocialised youth who did not know how to interact with his peers, a result of years of pure-blood isolation. James was his first friend, and Sirius is still grateful. ●Ah, the rockstar and the geek. Sirius and Remus's relationship is complicated, yes, but they are the best of friends. They have more respect for each other than any other Marauder. ●Sirius sees Peter as a bit of an adoring fan. He's much closer to the other Marauders. Remus
