(I'm working on some cover art) Chapter One: August 30th, her first day of sophmore year. Most students would be nervous at a new school, but to Akuma, it was already a second home. She stepped through the front door, her best friend Via at her side. "This is all so confusing." Via muttered, pushing her blonde hair behind her ear, before again adjusting it so it fell to the side of her face. "I mean, look at this. 302 and 303 are on COMPLETELY different parts of the building!" She held up a paper for her friend to see, "Via." Akuma laughed, pushing the map down. "Why is this hand draw?" Via's eyes darted away. "I... wanted it to be custom." Akuma smiled and shook her head. "I think you made a few mistakes. Look." She held up her own map for Via to see. "You're right." Via shook her head with a cautious speed. "I must have turned it upside-down at some point." Akuma smiled, but said nithing. She was used to her friend's antics. Finally the pair arrived at room 2502, first period. Upon walking in, they were greeted with an aethetic similar to that of a bejeweled cave. Blinds were draw, complimenting the walls painted a rocky black, and covered with multicoloured fairy lights, glittering like tiny precious gems, assisted only by a small skylight in the center of the ceiling, that proved little extra light. The thickly carpeted floor held several plush and neon coloured chairs, couches covered with so much faux fur that one might mistake the things for sleeping creatures should they not look closely. Several other students sat uncomfortable in dark corners, their chatter creating a sound similar to that of bats, interrupted only by an occasional cough, likely causes by the impressive amount of scented mist spewing from tiny machines scattered throughout the room. Glancing around, Akuma quickly noticed no teacher in sight. "Oh no." She muttered, seating herself on a large pink couch, Via following quickly behind. Teachers with these types of rooms rarely proved agreeable, also they certainly tried to present themselves as such, and perhaps even fancied themselves in the same manner. Either way, Akuma doubted the class would be enjoyable. Akuma turned to Via, who had been studying her face relentlessly, as though trying to get through and read her thoughts. "What do you think?" The girl asked quickly, trying to avoid the same question. "You know what I think." Akuma replied, making a face. "It's like Ms. Jenner started teaching high school." Via nodded. Their 4th grade teacher, Jenner, had been nothing short of a witch, and this room looked exactly like hers. "You have a p-" Just then, the door opened, and in walked a woman wearing an outfit holding more wooden beads than Akuma knew existed in the world. "Hello class." Her aged voice was barley audible above the clanking of her beads. "Welcome to study habits one." In slow, careful steps, she walked over to the board, picked up a marker, and began to write, the class waiting in a nearly captivated silence. Finally, she turned back to face them, her beads making so much noise in the process that half the class was inclined to cover their ears. "Mrs... Ssstar." She said slowly, pointing to each part of the mane, as though they would not understand should she speak any faster. "That CANNOT be her real name." Akuma muttered to Via. The woman's head snapped towards the direction of the words, her blue eyes shooting an expression sharp enough to cut. "Miss Akuma Bravley." She hissed, her voice, although shakey, filled with power. "If you... don't have anything nice to say, you should not say anything at all." Akuma cringed at the phrase, usally reserved for rude children, and the woman who apparently knew her name, despite never having met her. "I'm sorry." She said, her words void of any meaning.
