It's now been a year and a half since the release of the last installment to the Jurassic Park franchise, with both the fifth season of Camp Cretaceous and Jurassic World Dominion premiering summer of 2022. Back then, Colin Trevorrow, the director of the Jurassic World trilogy, said that he didn't know where the franchise would go, but that he didn't plan to direct it, hoping to give someone else a turn to put their ideas into the series. Last week, Universal talked to David Leitch, the director of Deadpool 2, about possibly directing what the public currently considers to be Jurassic World 4. However, two days ago it was decided that he would not direct the film due to 'creative differences'. Despite having not found a director, Universal has already stated that this new movie will be released on July 2, 2025, which suggests that they intend to make this movie soon. Until more information is released, this is all we know. Many fans speculate that the film will deal with the issue that Jurassic World Dominion left behind, that humans simply can't coexist with dinosaurs in a world where the creatures roam freely. Universal has yet to release an update, so we'll see where this goes. Jurassic World 4 isn't the only upcoming part of the franchise, however. Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is scheduled to come out sometime this year. Chaos Theory is the sequel series to Camp Cretaceous, the five season television show available on Netflix. In the 48 second teaser Universal released back in November, we see that this new sequel will likely follow Darius, the main character in Camp Cretaceous, as an adult in a world where dinosaurs live freely among humans, probably following a similar timeline to Jurassic World Dominion or possibly Jurassic World 4. Since most of the teaser is simply an animated scene from the Jurassic World Dominion prologue, we don't know much yet, but season one is set to come out sometime this year. Hopefully Universal will have more information on this soon and we can find out more about what's next for the Jurassic Park series. For now, enjoy this little parallax I've put together portraying a herd of Stegosaurus and Brachiosaurus living freely in our world, coexisting with us humans (not pictured because people are really hard to draw.) I'll post any other updates as they come up, but for now, this is all. Enjoy!
