Badly modded EV hydraulic lift… This is the lift at the Hudson hotel, in 8A Dogwood street, Rochester, UK. I was meant to stay there 2 nights but something went wrong ! Also, this lift is a 2003 Electra Vitoria roped hydraulic installed by Robertson Lifts which has been horridly modernized by Jackson in 2014. The original panel which had cheap but quite solid DMG B5 Inox buttons got covered with a new one which looks so bodgy and the lift now has stupid Dewhurst. The logic board was an Electra Vitoria ASP 116 which got ripped out and replaced with horrid Lester Controls. And yeah, this mod really sucks ! The hydraulics takes forever to charge and the levelling at 1st floor is ridiculously slow ! The Lester Controls voice is so awful and the logic has a lot of delays as always ! The speed hasn’t changed and it still goes 0.75 m/s but nevertheless it stills runs terribly bad and makes a lot of creaking sounds while moving despite being fairly solid for a generic hydraulic lift ! The lift is also badly maintained and cleaning staff can’t even clean the rooms upstairs because of how unreliable this lift is. The hotel has very bad reviews on TripAdvisor because of that. Also outside of this lift, there is a sign saying that using this lift is not allowed because of how unreliable it is. I didn’t saw that sign and a really angry security guard came and kicked me out the hotel even though he knew that I haven’t spotted the sign (So I paid £300 for 2 days but I only stayed here 1 because of that guard at least I didn’t left anything in the hotel) ! What a (censored) this guy is ! Also, when this lift goes to floor 1, it says « floor 4 », the alarm doesn’t work and the door sensors are also broken ! What a bad and unsafe lift this is ! Also, a member of staff told me that before the mod, this lift was actually very reliable and was running really nice and efficiently for a cheap Spanish generic hydraulic lift ! Also, the levelling when going down is super fast for some random reason. This lift is very big and has a nice proper chassis and it’s also got 2 hydraulic rams. This lift also has levelling problems. Also, the doors are still the original Fermator doors and they do work really well ! BTW I came to the hotel next door which is the McGintat Hotel and Restaurant located at 8B Dogwood street. They are about to buy the hotel where this Electra Vitoria is located. Why ? Because in almost 10 years, this hotel became a pure scam ! The hotel used to be a very odd small scale office building from the 1970s. In 1996, it got converted into a very small and cheap hotel. There was no lift there until 2003 when they added this thing in an external shaft. The hotel is very basic and you can only stay in the room and sleep and nothing else. There are only 10 bedrooms in total. That EV lift was the best hotel equipment you can use until 2014 when Jackson ruined it with Lester Controls. The hotel is now very run down and stupidly overpriced : It costs £150 per night and per bedroom (In this hotel 1 bedroom = 1 bed and 1 bed = 1 person, that shows how small the hotel is). And because of how bad this hotel is, it ran out of money. The other 1 is larger, better and cheaper (£90 per night & bedroom). This one was built in 2005 but the architects forgot to built a carpark for the hotel. It has 30 rooms on 2 floors and a restaurant. The building has 2 base model Kone Ecodiscs but they have their differences. And sadly, the place where this lift is located will be closed down, then demolished and a carpark which won’t have any lift as all of the cars will park at ground floor will be created. This means that this almost 21 year old EV (mod by Jackson) lift will completely disappear in a couple of weeks ! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Also, this lift is set to recall to floor 0 every time someone uses it for security check & it used to have the older Drucegrove voice before this rubbish Lester Controls mod thingy. It would have been epic to see an Electra Vitoria lift with older Drucegrove (Aka KoneOtis) voice… But at least there’s no ticky tape (The original Electra Vitoria positioning system has been bodged into the Lester logic). Logic : Lester Controls (Formerly EV ASP 116). Position of motor room : At floor 0. Starter type : Star-Delta (Remains unchanged). Capacity : 16 persons or 1200 Kg. Speed : 0.75 m/s. Motor : GMV T2 or T3 or T4 (I don’t exactly know) pump with 3010 mechanical valve. Maintenance company : Jackson Lift Group >:(. Positioning system : Shaft bars with IR beam sensors.
