The same instructions as always. --------------------------------------------- An experiment in a style of writing occasionally found on Ao3, in which song lyrics are interspersed between chunks of prose (also known as "songfic"). --------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: This is just prequel material (a sort of brainstorming method) for what is planned to be a 5-book series. One day in the distant future I'll finish writing it, and will probably publish it - on paper, under my real name - but until then I'll only publish these short-story bits, and unrelated content (including some poetry that I want to run by the world at large). --------------------------------------------- I must be a masochist for writing this. For background: I spent an afternoon writing it after having this song and some ideas associated with it looping around in my head for months. I wrote it in December of 2023. I first discovered this song in September 2023, in a Star Wars edit (more specifically, Anakin and Obi-Wan) on YouTube. Because I have an unhealthy emotional attachment to Star Wars (and a great appreciation for good story), it nearly made me cry. Sometime between September and December, I got it in my head that this song really worked with one of my characters - in this case, Alexa - and I wrote this on a whim, to see if I could fit it within her life story. ------------------------------------------ It takes a lot of energy to write something like this. I hope you enjoy reading it, because I enjoyed (if "enjoyed" is the right word) writing it.
@Daydancer - you had better read this, because it took an awful lot of energy to write. Thank you for being with me every step of the way with writing this mess of a story. Imagine Dragons' Warriors, as performed by 2WEI and Edda Hayes. A beautiful, moody arrangement of an already well-written song. Truly a masterpiece. I recommend it to everyone. WiTEdits: you probably have never opened Scratch within your entire life. You have 225 subscribers. You deserve thousands more. The Warriors video is the best-edited fan video I have ever seen. Well done.
